Joaquin "Jack" Garcia, a former FBI agent who infiltrated the Mafia, shared his life story during his sit-down with VladTV. Born in Cuba in 1952, Garcia was raised in the Bronx after his father fled Cuba due to political unrest. Garcia followed a year later during the Cuban Revolution. He worked as an undercover FBI agent for 26 years (from 1980 to 2006), during which he spent two and a half years within the Gambino crime family. His promising career was cut short when he was pulled from the Gambino case under mysterious circumstances. In 2008, Garcia published a memoir based on his experiences. From his early memories of Cuba to his experiences as a Cuban immigrant in New York, Garcia offers a glimpse into the world of a man who found himself simultaneously inhabiting various cultural thresholds. To hear more, check out the full interview above.

This was a FANTASTIC interview. The interviewer was phenomenal. He clearly did tremendous research and it showed in the quality of his questions. He was prepared with great excerpts from Jack’s book and it flowed so well. Jack was great guest too. I didn’t want it to end! I couldn’t believe I watched for almost three hours. I could have listened to another three.

Shouts to Cavario, this was a great interview. He clearly did the research and came well prepared. Early to mid 2000s had to be an interesting time to be embedded with the Gambinos. The family’s power base was shifting from the Gotti’s to the Sicilian faction and they’ve been the power ever since.

Jack is a true story teller!! Very interesting man especially how he came from Cuba couldn't speak English. Learned our language. Amazing how he learned football and got a scholarship to college did 5' years. Applied for the fbi? He's got to be one of the best undercover agents ever? Ge never said a bad word about any other FBI,cia, deac. Just one thing that pissed me off was they shut down his Gambino family case. As soon as he was going to be made? I mean this man was unbelievable as and undercover FBI agent. They did the same thing to Donnie Brasco. He was going to be made himself and they sent him to Florida to do a hit. Acted like he couldn't find the man and they said no problem. Again the FBI shut the case down? I learned a lot from this interview. Im definitely buying the book and if I can get jack to sign the book that would be the icing on the cake!!!! Thank you Vlad for another great interview!!! Dougie Boston ma. I remember the Boston police investigation. My Dad was a chief of police and well respected. I remember i caught a case for fighting? I was protecting myself and really fucked this guy up. The asshole who assaulted me first had 3 friends lie on the stand. Two weren't even there. I was found guilty and given 6 months in jail. So I was brought up to parole. This deputy says to me is so and so you're Dad? I turned around and said will I get released today? With a smile on my face. I look just like my dad. I said yes that's my father and I'm sure he's not happy about this. What do you mean? They brought 3 witnesses when there was only the one who assaulted me first and two others and the only other witness who was actually there. Well my dad was a retired chief by then. He got me brought up to his office. He said to me you know your dad is a good friend and guy. I know said. I arranged for you to be paroled next week. Thank you very much. Im going to look into the two fake witnesses? Wow !! That's great. He caught them lying and had them arrested and charged with purgery. they got 4 months in jail, ironic cause that's how long i was there for. So he got me paroled and charged those two liars for purgery.

A huge correction must be made just from hearing the first 3 minutes of conversation. I am from Nicaragua. When Mr. Garcia refers to his country CUBA "as still a BANANA REPUBLIC", Cuba did not become a Banana Republic because of Castro or the Revolution. All of Central America and some caribbean islands such as Cuba were Banana Republics before the revolution in Cuba and before the revolution in Nicaragua. The US company called the UNITED FRUIT COMPANY, owned these countries, who exploited Central America and Cuba and is the reason why they were called the Banana Republics, exploiting the local people, financing the corrupt dictators and financing their armies, the chemicals used in these plantations owned by the US companies killed thousands but who cares, right? Mr. Garcia made it seem like Cuba is a Banana Republic because of the revolution, this is completely wrong and you have to look at US imperialism and the UNITED FRUIT COMPANY as the reason why...

I think the reality and significance of the Cuban Revolution is something widely ignored in the US. The actual revolution was led by José Antonio Echeverría and others who fought an urban campaign against the Baptisa government. Castro had a rag tag group of outlaws and extremists in the mountains and jungles. But by the time the fighting was over between the two actual combatants they had destroyed each other and Castro and his group took the opportunity to basically just walk into Havana and fill the power vacuum left by civil war and unrest. Power will always piggy back on a righteous cause, until a situation arises where their lack of ethics or values creates an opportunity to assume total control. It’s the same situation as Stalin and Trotsky. Were the meek ever to inherit the earth, they will quickly lose it to the violent and cruel.
