Күн бұрын►Replacing brake pads and rotors is a universal experience for vehicle owners. BMW has recently changed its policy, and brake jobs are no longer covered under warranty, meaning much more cost for any owner headed in for service. Replacing your pads and rotors yourself is a great way to save a significant amount of money and gain some useful wrenching skills.
When the pads wear down, the pad wear sensor will trip. This will signify that you have around 1000 miles of safe driving before the pads need immediate replacement. However, depending on the signs, specifically, if there's any juddering, shaking, or grinding under braking, both the pad and rotor could need replacement earlier. Replacing them is very straightforward and can be done in a couple of hours if you take your time.

Finally videos coming in for G05. I bought mine new and still I want to do all my own services. Great guide, thank you! Can you maybe do a video on transfercase and differentials for G05 please? It looks more complicated than the previous gen.

Yessss, finally the G05. As someone who does all my own work on '21 4.0xdrive, I've been patiently waiting for these. If it's not too much to ask, can you cover drive line fluids and hi-pressure/low-pressure coolant systems, and for the love of God, how to properly jack up the rear (for those of us with lifts). I am glad I am not going crazy. I changed the brakes on my G05 a few months ago and wondered why there wasn’t any of the little metal clips for the pads to slide on in my kit.

So you dont push dirty fluid/crud back up the brake lines and worse case scenario into the DSC(abs) unit

6:25 The rear pads and rotors on BMW's. Especially the G chassis. Do you need a special tool for the rear calipers?

You need a scan tool to put the e brake in service mode, or you can manually wind back the e brake caliper

Typically, we recommend a scan tool to retract the electronic parking brake!
