Exclusive 1st ever caught of the brand new squad 8 responding from quarters. Squad 8 was replaced by engine 154. Squad 8 is the first squad to be in staten island.

Squad 8 - Ex Engine 165, a 2014 Seagrave Attacker. The 2nd piece is a 2018 Ferrara Heavy Duty Rescue. Engine Co. 165 now has Ex-Engine 154 as its apparatus. Engine Co. 154 disbanded and reorganized as Squad Co. 8

SQ8 is a custom build. Their engines and squads have 2 separate designs

@@AustinKDG E-165 was a squad body but labeled engine 165..it had more capabilities then an engine but still labeled an engine..plenty of pics n info out there.

Why give SI a squad? Thats where guys go to retire. My cousin is in Brooklyn he had to do a few details in Staten island no calls in 4 shifts its a joke out there

Because when SI does get fires the closest squad comes from far away. Now you got a area that has no squad company because they had to go to all the way to SI

The City of New York is made up of five boroughs. The State of New York is made up of counties. Each City borough is also a State county. Manhattan - New York County. Bronx- Bronx County. Brooklyn- Kings County. Queens -Queens County. Staten Island - Richmond County

Thanks. I knew about the boroughs but didn't know they were also a "county" as well. Similar to Hawaii where each island is also a county.
