This is what happens when you eliminate civics classes from both the public schools and than don’t even teach it to the LEO enforcing criminal laws. The US pays about 6 billion a year in lawsuits because of a corrupt system that wants to denigrate and criminalize its citizens.

Hello Audit the Audit, I was wondering if you could give some exposure of the incident with a man named Jim Hoges where he is walking and his cane is mistaken as a firearm, the title of the video is “ID refusal 4th amendment violation” the exposure yoh provide could be great as he is still searching for a attorney in the Florida area.

Charged with task of skating that thin line. Figure cops have enough on their mind? Life isn't difficult/dangerous enough with a job where it's impossible for them to anticipate what they'll encounter from day to day, minute to minute? Without having to deal with weasels like this trying to make a living off this bs? Sh!th3d said himself that he has a pending case; possibly attempting to make a career of this. The cop should not have taken the bait; perhaps it rubbed him the wrong way in that moment for whatever reason. Not gonna lie, I personally enjoy being flipped off, imagine I'd appreciate it even more if I had a job requiring potentially putting my life on the line defending people like this sh!t kid opportunist. Real: Every officer is human; don't forget that. And they are vetted by humans, so naturally some will make it in that should not. Guess what happens when we encourage hate toward those that protect us? Guessed it? There will be fewer and fewer there to protect. By chance if you can't grasp this then move to that country that handles this better.

Terrifying that the cop turned off his body camera! They should not be able to do that themselves, should need to call in to request it or there should be a secondary device that records so there is proof. Too many cops either don't know the law, or are on a power trip. Love how Officer 1 jumped on the "Well you could have been signaling me down" when his Officer 2 gave him an excuse; however, he knew damn well it was the finger and said so when he stopped the car.
@subspace666
@subspace666 7 ай бұрын
well obviously the cops should not turn off the camera in situations like this but they should always have control of it as well there is no way around this. so long they can't delete or edit the data its fine since any misuse of the bodycam is documented and the officer can be punished. no clue why the officer did that though seems to me this could be a big liability if for example the person hurts himself or something happens after the camera was intentionally turned off, people would suspect the cop. an officer should be fired after a couple of incidents with the bodycams like that especially after they are out of training and are no longer novices.

It's not their feelings that's being hurt. It's their pride that's been bruised. Unfortunately, too many LEOs are only LEOs to get an ego fix - a way to inflate their undersized egos and bolster their general sense of inferiority and inadequacy. It's state sanctioned bullying. And they feel threatened when someone doesn't grovel before them, and their sense of superiority they think is bestowed by their job. It is a clear threat to their sense of authority, and the authority of LEOs in general. Clearly, that's what this was about. Get the kid to kiss their "boots", because flicking them the bird doesn't convey the desired sense of subservience from the public.

Can't do this because of one simple thing. Prove to me the camera didn't malfunction, or that the button was not pressed accidentally, or by the "perp" while pressed against him while cuffing him. It's too hard to prove, and it could potentially happen to a lot of innocent cops. There is no way in hell with current tech that this would be a good, or just idea. I doubt you really thought it through.. More needs to happen to prevent it, and as data storage gets cheaper, and takes less resources, I have a feeling all cameras will be on 24/7 without an ability to even turn them off, or at least only heavily restricted ways. The tech just needs to catch up to demand.

@@Slimtastic FALSE! Although the terms “witness” and “criminal case” makes you think of a criminal trial, the Supreme Court has long held that the Fifth Amendment applies outside a criminal courtroom. It applies any time a person is forced to make a statement that could be used to incriminate themselves. A short list of situations where the Fifth Amendment applies outside a criminal trial includes: traffic stops, police interrogations, grand jury proceedings, arrests, civil depositions, civil trials, and testimony before the Unite States Congress. During a traffic stop or detainment if you are being accused of something you have the right to remain silent and not answer questions, especially if they are accusing you of something and trying to fish for a response that would on the face legitimize their accusation against you. You seem like the type of person that will let an officer unlawfully pull you over and fish for reasons to fine you or detain you.

However, most normal human being keep themselves within certain parameters, and shutting off the body cam is well outside those parameters and makes it very clear that this guy has that cam in the back of his mind all day... ...so what happened before we had eyes on him?
