Күн бұрынWhat is Pansit Bato? While it translates to “rock noodles” it is actually named after the small town of Bato, Camarines Sur in Bicol. What is special about Pansit Bato is that the noodles are made with flour which gives it that bouncy texture that goes well with its savory sauce and fresh ingredients.
Declaro’s Pancit Factory sells thousands of noodles per day and is revered by locals and tourists passing through Camarines Sur. By combining modern and traditional methods of making noodles, they were able to preserve the taste and texture that Bicolanos grew up with. Here in Taytay Rizal, my friend from Bicol made a food business during pandemic with pancit bato on the menu and it's so goooood! Lalo na kapag nilagyan ng suka(vinegar). Bicol dishes are very delicious and unique. I hope more of these dishes get a spot light on your videos.

Was waiting for this episode. Showcasing my mom's roots. My Mom used to cook this with sardines and lots of pechay. Typically we put spiced vinegar. The best! Wishing we have pancit bato here in where i migrated.

In our family, we do it din na masabaw. Then, you pour a little spicy vinegar in it and eat it with sinapot (i.e., maruya).

We Bicolanos eat pancit bato almost on a regular basis. It's something you cook when your household can't decide what to cook for lunch/dinner. It's also traditional "handa" during Holy Week (Bicolanos are still quite religious) when people can't eat meat, we usually mixed pancit with shrimps or any seafood/veggies for that matter.

Sounds fascinating especially all the different toppings, though I’m not a fan of pigs blood but pig face yes. Sisig Pancit sounds so freaking amazing. 🤤 I am gluten intolerant so I will have to use bihon or pad thai/Vietnamese pho noodles but I’m excited to try the other versions. Thanks for hi-lighting this dish I’d never even heard of it.

Both of my parents spent a lot of their childhood in Bicol so we have lots of relatives there. We once spent a week there visiting these relatives that I only met for the first time. As the one in the family who likes to cook, I bought pancit bato when we returned to the capital. It's been more than five years since and I can't quite remember how I cooked it then. All I know is that my dad, who was quite skeptic when I bought it, was satisfied with it. Now excuse me while I try to get my hands on those noodles again.

Parang mas maganda yung maliliit na noodles. Pwede mo kasi i undercook yun ng konti, para matigas tigas at chewy. Di tulad ng malalaking noodles, parang miki texture na yata siya.

For those who like to try pansit bato check out Manoy Henry's Bicol Special Pansit Bato in LRT Santolan station it's affordable and so delicious you can also have dinuguan toppings 😋

@@featrmedia when my brother went to Bicol. It is one of his pasalubongs. I cooked it like the pansit habhab and it is good. I then watched a video on how it is supposed to be cooked the right way.
