I'm an operations manager for a FXG contractor, backing into a driveway is an absolute LAST resort and only in rural areas where the residences are a considerable distance from the road. No way in hell I'd let a driver back into a driveway in an urban setting.

U never enter residential driveways unless they are very long. I remember working at ups and a coworker lightly drove on a lawn and had to come back to the house and fix the lawn. No B S

First off....don't drive on residential driveways. Secondly, don't park head first in parking spots, that only heightens the chance of a backing accident..AND USE YOUR HORN WHEN BACKING ANYWHERE! SMH

Probably should be teaching not to drive in driveways like that in the first place. No hazards, no horn. I also always train a driver that if they are going to park in a parking spot to take up 2 spots so nobody tries to park next to the van making it difficult to back out.

@Me Sm I'm asking why as well. And I don't need an answer because I already know what you're gonna say. But if you can't back out just as easy as driving forward, then you shouldn't be working for FedEx. Most vehicles have backup cameras and regardless if you're driving backward or forward, you have the ability to look to your left and right along with the rear view wide-angled mirrors. It's EASY to backup. I guess most people are just dumb and can't do it though... Sucks for them! LOL!

Cringe! Never park in a crowded shopping center like you're in a passenger vehicle. Or never pull into a driveway like you're pulling into your house. If you're heavily loaded up you can damage pavers so its best to not even get in the habit.

Im like i dunno what ppl talking about when it comes to driveways. Obviously u dont gotta drive up a driveway with the house right there like in this case but my routes in the sticks, i be driving up a ton of driveways and i back up into alot of them so i dont gotta back out onto the road. Unless i know i can turn around when i get to the house. Also if u got something heavy as shit damn right im backing into the driveway n leaving that shit by the garage.

Yes, if necessary. Not something to make habitual as it can cause property damage. However, it is not acceptable to drive nose first into a driveway, for obvious safety reasons. Backing into a driveway is bad enough, backing into a roadway increases risk to you and others significantly.

As an insider I am telling you that even you have the TITLE of ISP (Independent Service Provider) you still dance in the music played by FedEx. There are guidelines you have to follow and duties and responsibilities you have to comply with. By what you're saying we shouldn't wear uniforms, our vehicles shouldn't have the FedEx logo, yet that's something you have to comply with. Next time, before jumping to someone's throat make sure you have the right information. Maybe I am an idiot, but your lack of knowledge makes you 1000 times bigger than myself. Cheers.

What type of training is this??? I never seen a Fedex truck on nobody driveway let along back up. Curbside is the proper way. Company don’t like when you back up on a companies vehicle. Horn was not used.

He went into the driveway to turn around. HE DID NOT PARK in the driveway. However, yes you are usually not supposed to go on driveways cause you might drip oil.

Sorry to hear you never used a driveway. I hate to break the news to you but you may face back problems in the future due to lifting consistently and walking long distances with packages for hours on end.
