A very special siren walk episode where I'm joined by Edaan Friedman and Duderocks who show me the last remaining Federal Enterprises' Thunderbolt 2000, still connected to its original gas powered generator, in the world.
Be sure to check out their channels for additional siren videos.

This is really cool to see, I've been looking at this Thunderbolt for sometime on Google Maps and never realized it was gas powered! Should definitely be preserved as well, as it'd be really unfortunate to see it taken down. I'm hoping to see it in person next year but thank you for this awesome video of it!

I totally recommend going to visit the Rueben Ingold Park and surrounding area. There are great views of the siren without going into the gate. While we were there someone from the School, whose property the siren may be on, came over to check out what we were doing. Which was a good thing. Just like when you go camping or hiking: Take memories (photos in this case) and leave only footprints.

That siren isn’t supposed to come down anytime soon. I’d say they would only remove it if it’s blocking construction work (which is unlikely to ever happen in the near future), or if it becomes a safety hazard (again, quite unlikely to happen.)

There is another one of these still up, in Phoenix. Same 6M blower, and the siren is completely active. Phoenix used to have about 25 of them. However it does not have the gas engine anymore, but it used to. This tbolt in the video is the last one with a gas blower, but technically not the last one in the world. There are a couple collectors, also in Phoenix, who own tbolt 2000’s. Anyway, Nice vid!

Honestly probably wouldn't be difficult to get working again, looks like it just uses an Onan BF engine which isn't too tricky to get parts for. If the motor is totally trashed from sitting for years there are still many Onan BF series engines around to replace it with.

From what I'm told, the one in Phoenix has been retrofitted to run on electricity. Just to clarify a bit: the A and B on the list above means whether the siren runs on 3 phase or single phase current, and the 1003 has the solenoids to do the hi-lo signal (like the one in Mineola, NY). There is also the Thunderbolt System 7000 which is a transportable unit, with everything needed housed inside a small trailer with the siren head on top of it, this one was mainly made for the US Army but some were installed as a full siren system in Kuwait. There was also a Thunderbolt 1003 put on an Union Pacific locomotive to test if it would make a good train horn but it was a failure
