@@l.a.a.c2055 Growl be supported? don't really know, all I know is if you don't strain and don't hurt your vocal chord when growl then you use the right technique. Actually Beyonce has better growling technique than Whitney and Mariah but Whitney's and Mariah's growl sound amazing. Two Queens and Divas.

there’s no “growls that can’t hurt your throat” she just doesn’t go over board to the point where she’s straining so it doesn’t do as much damage as an untrained person

GarageStudio they're about as damaging as falsetto or whistle is. She manipulates the air forcing extra air to cause the distortion. Unlike others who tighten their throats to squeeze the air.

Growl or rasp is the mostly misunderstood technique in nowadays contemporary music ...often people say it is straining ,but people with trained ear difference healthy and unhealthy one ...it is extreme part of vocals therefore , just people know resonance and support ,growl too have it's healthy or unhealthy critrea

Also what exactly is a rasp, and how is it produced, and, defining me what the term musical sound means, plesse explain why a growl and rasp can be considered musical sounds.

Yes ...just like to have proper resonance and support you should have good breathe support and cordination of vocal chords ,in growl ,it should be done with proper breathe support ,it requires really great amount of breathe control ....while we sing in clean tone our vocal chords vibrate but in case of growling we don't wanna use our vocal folds ,there is called false vocal chord which is applicable for growling .If you want to know more ask me

Karen Clark Sheard should've been added to this, she has done really high growls, especially in one of her songs Balm in Gilead, over all my favorites in this video are Arianna Grande, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson and Beyonce
