What I've learnt... - It's not enough to have cool images, they have to all gel together to paint a picture outlined by the brief. Do this by harmonizing the colours, overlays, repeating elements and grouping similar subjects. - Font selection is very important. They have personalities so use fonts that communicate the intent of the brand or the brief. - Contrast makes for an interesting design. Different elements contribute to the general theme better when their hierarchy has been clearly established. - the futur team is very very selfless! Good work you guys :)

thanks, Matthew this is summary for the Stylescape the Stylescape is a communication tool that helps to clarify the direction for both of the clients and the designer by using organized elements, photos, typography, colors, intended user and anything that serve the project.

That was really helpful ! Can you show few examples of actual designs in which we execute the stylescape ? so that we can understand the further application of it. Thank you !

Thanks for this useful course! I've been looking for something like this for a long time. How to do these first steps, how to generate ideas before the start do. Because variation colors, fonts, forms huge. How to find the beginning of the path - it was always number one question for me. Therefore I also searched some abstr-associative images to search for shapes and colors. Then put them in a folder. And now i see this is part of the design called - Stylescape. So it is very useful, this is when a novice designer asks himself "how to start?" This is the beginning.

you could invite some designers over to have a conversation about their work to check if you're getting their "message" Or have "random people" or the target audience make comments if the design is connecting w/ them.. These are random thoughts but awesome video as always 😁

Thanks Matthew, learning a lot! Had few questions, please help :) Since stylescape is not the actual design, how do you convince a client based on it? For instance in the Hamilton use case, the stylescape presented and the end product had a different look. What if the client expected an exact translation of the stylescape? How do i make a client visualise the end result based on a stylescape?

Hey Mathew, I have a couple a couple of questions regarding stylescapes. I have worked for a couple of clients but I never sent them any kind of a moodboard or a stylescape in the whole process. I wanted to ask that is the stylescape sent before you start to work on the Logo project of the brand? What should the stylescape actually convey to the client? Is it just another way of telling the client how the branding will look on different mockups and what vibe the branding will give with the help of tye colour schemes? Or is their any other specific message a stylescape is supposed to convey? I loved the episode and did learn quite a loy of new stuff but these questions still remain unclear. It will be of great help if I get answers of these questions in tye near futur. Thanks alot!

Sometimes when I do stylescaping, I tend to get a lot of pegs from a one brand because of similar personalities, whenever that happens I try to veer away from it cuz it might end up the same :P. Do you guys have some sort of process on how to prevent it and how you look for pegs/references on building the stylescapes without making it look like a clone from another brand?

Why the stylescape is in these proportions? For example why is it not A3 ect?
@mattheusswinkels1716
@mattheusswinkels1716 4 жыл бұрын
For me it's nice that this proportion doesn't have any associations with any application. So your (clients) review focuses more on both the total experience as well as details from a more abstract perspective. Which is perfect if you're in the initial phase of the brand identity
