Agree with the point about trying these things for yourself if you are a creative who feels threatened by AI. It starts feeling way less threatening as soon as you poke around in there for a bit and discover that the actual possibility space covered by these tools is way more cramped than it may seem from the outside looking in. Just gets boring after a while

i think ai can have potential in creative fields, obviously not as a replacement but a tool. having an ai be able to create sounds you cant make yourself to be used as a sample thing would be cool i think. though i doubt we can stop companies from trying to replace artists and musicians

I can deal with Posy dabbling with AI if only to mock it.
@Goodgu3963Ай бұрын
I hope not ONLY to mock it lol. Can't wait to see what real musical professionals will do with this tech. It's cool to be able to quickly type a few words and get something half decent out of it, but when musicians are given much deeper control over the generation, and able to actually spend time prompt engineering and post processing we're gonna get a lot more cool music.

I like your approach to AI stuff. I think if you feed your own model on your own stuff and mark it as such it's totally fine, the only yucky thing about the AI hype is the rapey approach companies are taking for data sets with their take and then ask in a really hard to say no way.
@dykamАй бұрын
The models used here quite likely are trained on large datasets. Posy's input is just refinement. So that can still be a problem here.

I'm always up for some exploration into A.I which I've recently learned stands for Apple Intelligence! I wonder if the G in AGI stands for Google? Never mind, A.I music. So its kinda mental how good it got in no time at all. I've seen a bunch of videos from musicians I follow who are doing the "watch me try and integrate A.I workflow into my music" and they sort of have to scold it a bit for not having feelings or something. I've dabbled in music making all my life but really for fun. I am not threatened but I am impressed and think how amazing this could be for some people who just want certain music for a project and now they can have it virtually for free. Or a lot more for a little money. Also I've lost count of the meme tracks, diss tracks I've heard from content creators. You can have the most hilariously professionally produced attacks on people who are really nobodies. Just part of some small community and now you can diss track each other back and forth. The creative possibilities are enormous, I love it but I get people are scared that a music track is going to one day become sentient and take over the world. Just remember we discover time travel and can come back and moider the youtuber who made the diss track while they are still babies. Just don't answer the door if your last name is Connor.
