Now it has become known to the public how to remove a juror one does not like, or make it vote the preferred way. Just deliver a bag of money at his door. If he accepts it you won. If he reports it, he is removed. Parties facing a jury with one adverse juror no longer have a problem.

Say what you want about the corruption but the justice system is holding up fairly well. It’s unfortunate that it’s all we are left with at this point. Politicians and law enforcement is kinda not trustworthy and the Trump trial was called a hoax every other day but the very man himself, Trump had every chance to testify and tell his side of the story but declined. All the claims of unfairness and he didn’t speak because he knew he couldn’t tell the truth. This is why so many people think that you’re smart now if you’re getting away with stuff and it respected to be able to get away with scamming people and our system. Things are headed in a disturbing direction.

It is a federal trial in Minneapolis, MN involving a group of Somali immigrants who defrauded the government during the COVID 19 pandemic by taking $40 million of pandemic money under the pretext of preparing and serving food to underprivileged children. This group of 7 are the first to be tried out of a total of 70 defendants. They defrauded a federal program that was aimed at reimbursing schools, daycare centers and non-profits for giving meals to children during the pandemic. They set up a foundation called "Feeding Our Future," which they used to request pandemic funds from the government. Some locations they served claimed they were feeding about 60,000 people per day. It is alleged that only 10% of the money went into feeding the kids; according to the government, the money went into their personal bank accounts, and they purchased lakefront property, luxury cars and jewelry for themselves. They also wired some of the proceeds to their families in Somalia. On the eve of jury deliberations, somebody dropped a bag containing $120,000 to the home of one juror.

@@lynnnelson6689 You're absolutely right, her protection is what I'm worried about. The judge acted swiftly by dismissing her from the jury and sequestering the rest of the jury and revoking bail for the defendants. However, the next immediate step should have been to use some taxpayer funds to relocate her to a different location. She cannot be left to fend for herself. If the government does not take protective measures and something bad happens to her, it could serve as a terrible example for future jurors who may encounter a similar situation and may feel tempted to keep the bribe money.

When I did jury duty, the defense attorney asked us our names and what we did for a living. Most people answered with their full name and where they work. This is stupid but it is how it works.
