Feeding the Turtles in the New Ponds!

In this video, I check on the turtles in the new ponds and hand feed them shad. I also feed my pet alligator gar and mallard duck. Thanks for watching!!

@@abz11329 Once the vegetation side of the new ecosystems is more established and thriving, I've no doubt that more life will move in. It's already likely that at least some of the ducks will return at some point; this was their childhood home, where they felt safe and cared for; that leaves an impression~

I just want to remind everyone that Fish Whisperer earns more when you don't skip through the ads on his videos. Suggestions: - Make a gravel beach ramp for the turtles not to stir the bottom - Add a polarized lens to the camera to filter the water reflection

God idea - not certain if the camera being used, can be fitted with a polarized filter, but it would certainly cut out the glare!

Ducks are social animals, so she probably misses the others. Hopefully they or some others will come back to keep her company.

I love that the turtles currently have no competition when feeding, except for each other! 😊 And I hope (but doubt) that the other ducks come back. But then there’s still that younger set of 3(?) that could be mature enough for the ponds now.

That duck seems to have really taken a liking to the pond. If she sticks around, ducks flying over head will eventually spot her and come down. She might stay the only permanent resident, but I'm pretty sure she'll have company from time to time, and probably a nest of ducklings next spring.

"wholesome" is the exact word that comes to my mind when I watch his videos. I always find myself thinking "his parents did a wonderful job". At the risk of sounding like an old fogey, it's nice to see in this day & age. The world would be a better place with more people like this in it. (Too corny?)

@@birbbos219 Yes, he's actually put quite a lot of structure in those ponds. Although, with the amazing power of hindsight, it might have been a good idea if he had put some big piles of cinder blocks, concrete pipes, logs, etc in those ponds before they filled up. Maybe something for his next project?

previously i have owned 4 different species of turtles that are only found in the indian sub-continent. now i have my 5th breed of turtle (the native flapshell turtle). i love these reptiles :)

Yes. The pond is not quite clear enough right now but in the winter it will get crystal clear.
