You can relate no matter what your "good stuff" is... parents ,family, children, etc. We all need to drink up more of our "good stuff". His song "That's why I'm here" is one of my all time favorites. It's a song about recovery and my father had 26 years sobriety when I lost home almost 3 years ago in an unexpected accident. Very special song and I think you would enjoy it! Love from Texas 👍💖

Music row hitmaker Craig Wiseman and country music singer-songwriter Jim Collins wrote the song. Wiseman recalled to The Boot the writing of the lyrics: "The security guard where we were writing that day, Rusty Martin, was a friend of ours. He had lost his wife to cancer. In fact, he had moved up [to Nashville] because of that. Jim and I were just about to write another song. We were talking about what if you just sat there and watched your wife die. We both just sat there and were sort of stunned for a minute. We said, 'OK, let's get a cup of coffee and write a song!' That [thought] was obviously still in the room. It was not [Rusty's] story or anything, but we definitely had the wisdom of somebody there in that song, that person being the bartender, knowing a relationship like that. I actually played Rusty the song. I told him the song was inspired by him in some ways so I want to make sure he was OK with it. He went home and played it for his daughter. I had gotten in touch with the funeral home where he had buried his wife and had a matching foot stone made for her that was engraved with 'The Good Stuff.' I went and gave it to him at the No. 1 party. Everybody was crying. I always say this song came about because of three long, happy marriages, and two of them are still going." (Songfacts.com)

This was written by Craig Wiseman, a legendary songwriter in Nashville and now President / owner (?) of Big Loud Records. It came out of his friendship with a security guard at the publishing house where he was contracted at the time. He and his wife moved to Nashville for treatment when she was diagnosed with cancer. Sadly, he lost her and told Craig the story, hence this beautiful ballad. 💔♥️

Kenny is actually from my hometown small town everyone knows everyone and everyone grows up together he is pretty big here he went to Gibbs Highschool right out side of Knoxville TN

Great Song. I know you are reacting mostly to more modern country song but I think you should mix it up with old and new so you can see a progression that country music has traced through the years. There is one artist that you should really take a look at and that is Marty Robbins. Songs like: "White Sport Coat", "El Paso", "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife", "Streets of Laredo", "Devil Woman", "Big Iron" and "The Hanging Tree". Any one of those song will be great, Marty was one of the first Country / Western stars to cross over into the pop charts with I believe The White Sport Coat(And A Pink Carnation). "El Paso" is quite possibly the greatest Western Ballads to have been recorded the country music world and I believe also crossed over into the pop charts. Please take a look at Marty Robbins and he will not disappoint.
