Her daughter was born white, wealthy (not just rich, but wealthy) to extremely successful and famous parents. She didn’t want her daughter to have a chance, she wanted her daughter to have everything, and that’s called “GREED”. 🎉

If she really wanted to educate her daughter, teach her the values of hard work and honesty. We have a culture of youth that expect to win every single time and if they don't earn it, we still give each of them a gold star. Disappointment is part of life and can be a motivator to do better.

In simple words, her daughter partied her teen years, and Felecity wanted her to get a good college. Willing to screw over applicants who spent their years hitting the books, doing community projects, or working on their sports

This is the most pathetic defense imaginable. Playing the 'I did it for my daughter'-card, claiming that she 'had' to break the law and getting away with 11 (eleven) days in prison. This interview was a carefully calculated move to polish her image and public profile. Shame on you, Felicity Huffman.

By cheating to "give her a future" the daughter could have been admitted to an institution she couldn't perform well in, so I wonder if Felicity planned to continue to cheat her daughter's way through to graduating? Or was it simply ok for her to flunk out because her learning disability may have affected her ability to earn solid grades? I would think flunking out of college would be a blow to her daughter's self-esteem? Maybe that would have been irrelevant to Felicity.....And Felicity implies that her daughter couldn't get admitted to ANY post-high school institution (whether a community college or a state college/university) on her own merit at all? HIGHLY DOUBTFUL. I think Felicity simply wanted the prestige of saying her daughter got in to a PARTICULAR school, whether she could achieve that on her own merit or not. I think this interview is nothing more than an effort to minimize/justify her illegal conduct.

She's so melodramatic: "I needed to give my daughter a future!" Oh please! Your daughter was born into a filthy rich family and was going to be just fine. Instead of giving your daughter a future by cheating, why not give her integrity, honesty, hard work, compassion, and decency?

No she didn’t have to break the law but she did and by not teaching her daughter right from wrong was the wrong thing to do. As far as I can see she should still be in jail for the crime she committed. She claims that she wanted to give her daughter an education ok well this wasn’t the answer. You don’t go and break the law no matter who you are. Hopefully your daughter will not lose respect for what you did but I also think that she shouldn’t put any trust in what you do for her ever again. Your suppose to teach her values and by cheating isn’t one of them. Your should suppose to be the adult here and clearly your not.

When government officials do that and worse, nobody seems to face trial yet alone convicted jail time. I blame the admissions officers at the university in question for not verifying the bonafide records of test scores and grades in question. Bribes also have to be accepted and yet no school official who is more responsible for this scandal saw jail time. Felicity Huffman was obviously wrong with dishonorable conduct but certainly could not have done any of this without school complicity.
@epona9166

I think "all" Felicity Huffman did was pay to have her daughter's SAT scores bumped up. Since when do colleges doublecheck SAT scores? It strikes me as entirely likely this was completely without the schools' knowledge. Lori Loughlin's daughters were a different story. Fake sports expertise and other things to appeal to the school. They were obviously involved in that.

So the parents who are worth at least $100,000,000 did what any parent would do and break the law to give their (I guess) not so smart daughter two legs up over the poor families making $50,000 or less a year. Priceless, after all she's just a poor multi-multi- millionaire.

Her words sounded sincere, but when they shared the timing of her speaking out coincided with a new TV show she once again seemed selfish and self-serving! If she would have spent some time talking about where she volunteered and what she learned then this interview would have been less about Public Relations and a plug for new show. There was a woman that got years in prison for sending her child to a school in another district. Felicity’s consequence was like a privileged timeout!
