Totally off topic but can you do an episode on the German marching song Erika the origin and how it became associated with the German army

Only Frankfurt has a skyline like a US city. Unless something has changed in the last 20 years. Yes, the US has a lot of wildlife - this is something I missed living in Germany. I remember this episode, and it is one of my favorites!

The biggest thing I get from a lot of Germans (really Europeans in general) is not understanding how huge the US is. I was flying from Düsseldorf to JFK (New York) and some Germans befriended me. They thought they were able to spend 2 days in New York and then drive to LA to get their airplane to Hawaii. I busted their bubble and told them it takes 32 hours with limited stopping and going 190 kmh (this is breaking the law). They got off the airplane in JFK and I heard them talking German saying " that girl is right." If you are to drive the speed limit, hit no traffic, and don't stop for gas/pee/food, it'll take 42 hours.

The last one always gets me when I have friends visiting from Europe and in their short time here. They see more animals here in 2'-3 weeks than they do their entire lives in Europe... Especially reptiles amphibians and larger "dangerous" mammals

That's something I never would have guessed. Are there no parks or large open areas where there might be wildlife? Or is not much native to Europe?
@save7597
@save7597 19 күн бұрын
@@ahapkamy theory is that Europe has been really industrialized and sparsely settled so much for the 2 thousand years people have settled there that the animals found safe refuge away from all of the crazy moments of european infrastructure, warfare, and stuff akin to human civilization. Meanwhile America and more specifically the U.S. got a ton of national parks going on and has a ton of untouched, undeveloped, and otherwise cared for land by the native American tribe's reservations who many of them have mastered taking care of their land

Lets just say we've been very good at hunting down our wild life and cutting down our forests. It's getting better though. Wolves can be found pretty much everywhere on the continent except for the British Isles. Spain, France, Italy, the Balkans and the Nordic countries have bears. Deer (roe and red) and wild boar are everywhere. Moose can be found in the Nordic and Baltic states and ibex in mountainous areas. European bison and Iberian lynx are sadly still critically endangered. The numbers seem a lot lower than in North America though, so it's not as likely that you'll run in to them. (And yes off course we have national parks here 😉)

@@ahapka There's plenty of wildlife - but nothing big. Where I live, the biggest wild mamal is.. a fox. There might be a wood within 50km with deer, wild boars, or even otters, but those usually don't live close to the bigger population centers. In all of germany, theres around 1-2000 wolves, and around 0 bears. There's a few in neighbouring countries, but even they don't have that many.

These individuals have not visit all over america and have not lived a vast amount of time in america. Visiting a country is not the same as living in a country. America is so big and different in many ways across america.

@@numivis7807 ok, it's a true fact. Many a mericans don't even have a passport. Why is that you ask?. Well, this one country call america as oceans on three sides on the country. Let's not talk a place like hawaii. Inside america we tons of lakes and rivers for boating. Have you even heard about Minnesota 'land of a thousand lakes' and again is only one state inside america. For families to go boating or jetskising in america. So, one no reason to leave america. Let's no talk about families having pools in their back yards. This what you when fly across the southern states of america. Again america is the strongest economy in the world and the number one economy in the world. While the rest of the world's economy are right now in a recession. If american do travel into europe. Here's the ton 3 countries they like. First is england then france and then ltaly. Right now across america. You will see americans jumping in their trucks with their boats and jetskis's heading to the many lakes, oceans across america. No other country in the world can duplicate what america has. Just one spot in america 'boating in miami' videos do these people in those videos like their not having a great time and again. This is only one the tons of spots americans are getting in their boats and going to.

German Bears are extinct since a long time ago And our snakes almost all European snakes aren’t venomous. The Central European climate is in general not the best breeding ground for Cold-Blooded reptiles its pretty difficult to have a metabolism which depends almost entirely on heat trough sunlight, making it possible to move and flee which works maybe in the German Summer but at winter when you have only 4-5 hours of daylight every day but its almost always cloudy it limited the chances of surviving
