I've got a set of blocks like that but we rarely use them except for lifting from the portawrap. I typically make a simple truckers hitch around a tree for a hand pull. For any more than that we use the mini skid because we can! I really like the climbing hitch with the pulley for a convenient slack tend. One additional step can be done for more security, once pre-tensioned the pull rope can be tied off to your portawrap anchor in the event the load is too much to be pulled by hand it is saftely secured and not dependent on the blocks alone. I have a scenario tomorrow morning where I am going to employ something similar. I'm dropping a spar into limited space. There are fences all around so I don't want the top to ground in and have the butt go back onto a fence. Basically, drop it from a high enough spot on the spar for the wood to fit in the available space, and have it come off clean and drop flat. I hope to set all that up with the face cut and notch, then break the hinge wood with the 5 to 1 once safely back on the ground. If I screw it up I'll be repairing a fence! I don't want to climb and drop smaller pieces because there is a big hollow in that spar and it is sketchy enough I don't want to chance it. But enough about me! Patrick, I'm loving these! The part from last summer I have watched a couple of times on its own, but fitting it in here was a good way to tie the two pieces together. Stay safe, stay motivational! I put a bolens with a bite in the end of all my pull lines when we pull by hand. It gives you a easier grip. Same knot for a throw line. Nice pulley system. Do you have a link or more information on the 5 to 1

I've got the Stein 5:1 set. They are awesome. I always set them with a redirect to anotcher point. Then I install the 5:1 set horizontal and the reset is easier.

I was watching an older video of yours Massdam rope puller how it works and how to use it and was wondering if you now use the micro pully on that set up? I like the idea and I'm going to give it a try on my Massdam rope setup. I hate having to pull 150 feet of rope through it every time. I could just leave it in, but I like storing my rope separate in a rope bag. Will this hook up be a weak link or not much different than using a whole rope and not using the prusik?

Nice work Pat, 👍 One thing though, you walked around the long way to avoid walking beneath that tree yet you walked out in front of it to set a wedge. Granted the fence was right behind it but I would have foregone the second wedge rather than step out in front of a tree with a back cut in it.
