there's no real proverbial need for a certain gender to get into trades in general. it's more like a "if you can do it and you want to then go for it" welding is a pretty dangerous field and most people wouldn't go for it anyways and just go through college and live out their early 20s. which is nothing I can be mad at honestly. there's no need for representation in trades however. we just need more tradespeople yk. men just love the overt testosterone filled work in welding and appeals none to the femininity of modern women today, you'll find outliers here and there but there's no denying it just is what it is. I definitely won't be welding for long personally, it's not a career path of mine.
