Standing Pelvic Floor Stretches ▶️[PLEASE CLICK "SHOW MORE" 👇]
Hey FemTribe! Are you a butt clencher? A breath holder? (I've been guilty of both... Sometimes both at the same time!) If so, then you might also hold tension in your pelvic floor. These standing pelvic floor stretches will help, and they can be done without a yoga mat. All you need is a countertop and a sense of humor... One of the stretches/release techniques is a little weird! You'll know which one I'm talking about when you watch. I hope you'll give it a try; it's a great release!
Enjoy your weekly dose of Shine,
~Dr. Bri, PT, DPT

i cannot tell you how much your exercises have helped me I am a 72 year old woman who has developed several issues in the past few years, some urinary incontinence , issues with my bowels, and hip pain and the feeling of very tight hip muscles. At one point I was not able to sit and put one foot on the opposite knee as you would do when putting on socks because my upper thigh muscles were so tight. All I could think of is that this is a lousy way to live. I came across your programs and I feel like new person and in just such a short period of time! I started about 6 weeks ago, doing one or two of your programs every day. I love that they are so short and I do not work up a sweat Most of the issues are about 80% resolved I am so happy,. May God bless you and give you a wonderful New year. I cannot full express you what you have done for me

Thanks you dr Bri!! This helped me SO much! Also, probably TMI, but my butt is *almost* too big for me to get to my sitting bones. (Not in a good way.😂) Is there a way to do the awkward stretch if you couldn’t reach the sitting bones?

I'm new to this. Am I supposed to be able to feel the stretch in the pelvic floor muscles like I might feel a hamstring stretch? Outside of the manual stretch which I can't do because my arms aren't long enough to reach my ischial tuberosities.

Will this help strengthen my weak pelvic floor muscles. Will this help with my bladder pain and weak rectal muscles? I need relief and I'm tired of doctors. Thanks Dr. Bri.

Hi Karen, it's important to learn how to relax the muscles before you begin strengthening, so yes, in that case, this video is a great starting place. A good next step would be my 30-Day Kegel Camp! You can learn more here: bit.ly/femkegelcamp

Dr. Bri, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "pelvic floor tension", but I wish I had more. Everything is falling out. I do the exercises, take the hormones, and still there's always a bulge. What am I doing wrong, or am I just too far gone that surgery is the only solution?
@vibrantpelvichealth
@vibrantpelvichealth 3 жыл бұрын
Carol, I recommend seeing a women's health physical therapist for an evaluation; she might be able to help you with a specific treatment program! You can also consult with your doc to see about getting fitted for a pessary to help support the prolapse.
