Femke Bol Is Officially Out Of Control!
#femkebol proved to everyone that getting up after a fall and being a better version of yourself is quite possible to do. That said, Femke Bol, who fell face-down a couple of meters short of securing Dutch victory in the mixed 4x400m on the opening night of this year’s #worldathletics Championships in Budapest, produced the reverse effect in the final track race as her astounding finish earned women’s 4x400m gold for the Netherlands, in addition to winning gold in yet another event.
You already know what happened in the mixed 4x400m relay in Budapest. It was something so shocking no one could have predicted it would happen, and if anyone did, shame on them!
Going into the final race of the #trackandfield event, Team Netherlands was seen as the team probably best equipped to challenge the US for gold as they won the second leg with the peerless Femke Bol looking as if she was out for a morning jog as she brought them home in 3:12.12.
However, as the mixed 4x400m relay came to a close, it was the United States who won the mixed 4x400m world title at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, improving their own world record to 3:08.80. This happened after the Netherlands’ world indoor 400m record-holder Femke Bol hit the deck three strides from home while appearing on the brink of anchoring her team to victory.
