Hi Dave, I have hearing loss in 1 ear only. Is it still worth buying the latest hearing aid or would a more basic hearing aid be just as good

Hi Paul and thank you for the great question. I understand that you are unsure which hearing technology to choose, as you have hearing loss in one ear "only". What I have seen is that patients with monaural hearing loss are tending to go for the "medium" quality, as the very basic devices sound bad and are irritating to them. Also, the high-end devices don't sound recognizably better. So to answer your question: from my experience, it is not necessary to buy the latest hearing aid. I recommend to aim for a good hearing aid "in the middle". Hope that helps. Best, Dave
