I've tried quite a lot of different Tele pickups and the Texas Special set is still the best. It's the exact sound I hear in my head when I think Telecaster.

i have a professional with v-mods, feeling like i want more aggression but still can achieve the tele twang because i am a vintage sounding guy. Would these pickups be for me? I looked at the pure vintage 64 but these are only a tiny bit more so wanted to ask for your opinion? :)

The player sounds great but the tones aren't that impressive. Sounds cheap, in my opinion.

@@sassycat Texas Specials are actually great pickups, but again it's probably the settings on the amp that are dialed in here.

to my ears they do sound better than any squier pick up but perhaps you are comparing it to more expensive guitars and thus sounds mid to your ears? Let me know, I want to buy decent pick ups and put them in a squier and don't want to buy the wrong thing.
