The Jag-Stang sounds more harsh and twangy while the Jaguar is a little more subdued but sounds cleaner and overall nicer to me. I am impressed by how close to Kurt’s picking and strumming style yours is. There’s a lot of videos online of people playing Nirvana songs on these guitars, trying to get the right sound, but many of them fail to get this right the way you have. You must have studied him a lot. Well done.

quick secret to all viewers... the original jagstang kurt used live was modified and fit with a seymour duncan JB in the bridge position.... the fender jagstang has a weird pickup in the bridge that kurt never used EVER...... thats a lesson to all... if you get a jagstang, swap the bridge pickup to a jb and you will have a perfect replica model EVEN CLOSER THEN FENDER GOT IT....

I love the Jagstang and I want one more than anything but it is kind of lame that they don't give you a hard case or any fun goodies with it considering it costs 1300 dollars new.

i know its pretty crazy because here in the uk when the new reissue came out it was only originally £898 and now its like £1200. but another thing is i found that the jaguar sig is cheaper than the jag stang as in the uk you can get kurts jag for closer to £800 with the case used than the jag stang

I picked up a mint used 2014 KC Jaguar last week. I own a LOT of guitars. Expensive guitars. This Jaguar feels lime it was custom made for me. I love shorter scale guitars. The Jaguar is impossible to get out of tune....something I've never experienced with a Fender offset of any kind. The Gotoh bridge and tuners help I'm sure. The Dimarzio Pickups sound spot on. I really love everything about it. Except.....the knobs are kinda close, but even that's OK because I use the rhythm switch to go from neck to bridge. It works better for me that way.

My MIM Jag-Stang came sealed in the box, without a trem arm. I'm trying to get the store I purchased it from to request a replacement arm from Fender. I'm curious whether there's anything else I'm missing. Someone else I spoke with claimed that their MIM Jag-Stang trem arm came in a bag which also contained hex tools for adjusting the bridge, as well as some documents - presumably regarding use and maintenance. If possible, could you confirm whether these guitars were meant to be shipped with tools and documents? I'd like to track down anything which Fender forgot to include with my guitar.

@@jq.guitars I ordered mine through Long & McQuade - a Canadian chain which is a licensed Fender dealer. I placed my order last October, as soon as it was possible to purchase. I received it this January. The other people I've talked to who had the same problem were all people who bought their Jag-Stangs back in winter. I get the impression a lot of the early production MIM Jag-Stangs were all lacking this one bag of goodies.

I own both. Jaguar is miles better because the bridge and tuners hold tune way better. The mustang bridge is a flimsy nightmare and the vintage tuners only make tuning worse. If you’re going to get the jagstang, you need to hardtail the bridge by replacing the tremolo system with 2 bolts and use nuts as spacers, and replacing the rocking bridge with a tunomatic. Upgrading the tuners helps too. Kurt did it on his mustangs. If he had lived longer I’m sure he would have done the same mods to his jagstang. The Jaguar is just a much better guitar overall. Even the neck radius is easier to play if you don’t have child hands Edit: Also note, the older 1996/2006 jagstangs are made of cheap basswood and ding really easy. The newer jagstangs are built with Alder which is a massive upgrade in wood quality. The Jaguar is great out of the box, the jagstang needs a lot of work to make it the reliable workhorse that is the Jaguar. Both visually look stunning. IMO

I'd like just a Jaguar body but the rest of it be like a regular fender strat if you know what i mean? Without the tuneomatic bridge and all of the other buttons and different switch placement.
