This is a quick video showing the Alpego D-Max 600 6.0m power harrow being worked by our Fendt 939 Vario tractor. We often don’t need to use a tool like this at Warter Priory Estate, but every so often it will come in useful. A power harrow is used to break up the bigger lumps of soil that have been left behind when ploughing. This gives the land a finer surface which is a suitable seedbed for planting.
The Alpego D-Max 600 is a 6.0m power harrow that is driven by the tractor’s PTO. Between 200 and 440 horsepower is needed to run this particular model, so the Fendt 939 is a perfect fit for this piece of equipment. It features a floating frame and can fold up into transport mode when the work is done.
Warter Priory is a world class farming operation set in the heart of East Yorkshire amidst 12,000 acres. At Warter, we pride ourselves on our reputation for quality and efficient farming. The main crops we focus on growing are wheat, barley and oilseed rape. We also grow peas in partnership with Birds Eye and some of our land is used for growing potatoes.
The music used in this video is Tenderness by Dan Phillipson.
