I'm planning on sharing videos in which I show you my typical work-week as a photographer. I will give you tips & tricks concerning photography, photo shoots, backdrops, studio props, camera settings (iso, aperture, shutter speed, white balance), photoshoot outfits, photoshoot make-up etc.

IMPORTANT
If you are interested in photographing newborn babies yourself I would highly recommend you to first learn about photography in general. Master you camera, photograph in the Manual mode, learn about aperture, iso, shutter speed, white balance, light and composition. Take photos of your friends (adults or very patient older kids) and make sure you don't have to think about your camera anymore when photographing babies. Learn about editing as well. Please, don't experiment photographing Newborn babies without training. Attend a workshop by an experienced and professional photographer with an expertise in Newborn Photography. Learn about the anatomy of babies and invest in good quality cameras, lenses and props. Babies are extremely vulnerable and small and their safety and comfort should be your highest priority. Start with simple poses and make sure you know and understand that many 'pinterest poses' are composites. Please, don't try this at home. If you want beautiful photos of your own Newborn Baby, I highly recommend you to hire a professional and experienced photographer who is trained and specialised in Newborn Photography.

3 Instagram accounts! I thought I was being clever with two, but apparently I should be following my animals around with my camera, too =D Thanks for the great insights to how a real person can balance family and a photography career as always.

Haha, the puppy account is really just for me, because I love to look back at her 'older' pics and see her grow up. It's just a nice way to keep some pics together and share with the people who own her puppy-sister and the people we got her from :) Two accounts is quite manageable though and can be smart!

Fenna you are such an inspiration! Thank you for your videos! I would like to ask what program or template do you use for mini sessions. Also what do you recommend for client management. I have heard good things about Honeybook. Any suggestions?

Thank you! I don't really use fancy programs for client management and I've actually never heard of Honeybook. It might work for you! For my mini-sessions I create my add collage in Picassa and the images are later uploaded in Pixieset. is that what you mean?

There are a lot of apps you can use for posting for you at your social media. I like Planoly, it saves me a lot of time. :D

I would be very interested to know about your photographing in the hospital. That always you have with you, what you never use, if you can tell me more about it, would be very interesting to hear:)

Hi Jurate, in the hospital I don't use flash and sometimes it's quite dark in the hospital and rooms can be very small. Therefore I switch between the 50mm F1.8 lens (quite inexpensive lens) and the 24-70 F2.8 lens. I use my Nikon D750, because it performs well with a high ISO as well.

Hi Fenna. What form do you have your clients sign to allow you to release the images to your social media accounts?

Hi Carla, it's a booking form I created myself. I ask the contact details, info of the baby, type of shoot and then they tick the boxes (or don't) for agreeing with my terms and conditions and giving permission for me to share the pics. They sign it digitally.

Thank you! I’ve been spending money on Facebook ads but it never gets too much, I’ve wasted so much money. How do you get followers on Instagram? I find it kind of annoying that half of the followers are fake who follow and then then unfollow. It’s really difficult to make a business.

Hi Hatty, I think spending money on Facebook ads is not really worth it. I prefer inviting people to 'like' my page who have liked the pictures I share. On instagram I've never asked for followers in a like-for-like kinda way, but the amount grew naturally. Just sharing pics and using hashtags.
