My Grandmother lived to 102. She put it all down to a spoonful of honey eveyday. She suggested that in the morning take a teaspoon of honey in warm water and squeeze half a lemons juice, stir and drink on an empty stomach before you eat. Even better you can add a small amount of grated ginger and grated lemon rind. I certainly don't want to get to her age, but just to stay healthy till my times up. Great also for those suffering from IBS and asma.

Your grandma was a real one. I just watched a video on a channel called Hematic Foods, where he compares his blood under a microscope, before and after ingesting various things. You can see with your own eyes exactly what a certain food or drink does to the red blood cells. Raw honey caused his clumpy, sticky blood cells to separate and float free of each other. That's what you want - healthy red blood cells have a mild electric repulsion to each other, and should never stick together. Raw honey and ginger tea were two of the substances that had a noticeably good result on the blood, so I'm here to learn how to combine them, and make my blood sing!

It's best not to put honey or fermented things directly in hot tea. Any temp above 40 degrees c will ruin the honey and make it lose most of its medicinal properties and kill the good bacteria in the ferment. It's best to add to tea when lukewarm if you want the benefits from the thing. But if you want it just for flavour, it sounds tasty.

Awesome! One quick tip - use a spoon to peel the Ginger! Fastest way & MUCH less waste. Seriously, it's super easy & fast. Back in the USSR my family would do a lot of trading to get ginger and lemons (oddly, we were always able to get lots of honey). My mum would do batches with honey/ginger and batches with honey/ginger/lemon. Ginger/honey was for every day. Ginger/lemon/honey was for when we were sick or midwinter, since fresh vegetables were unavailable & unless our American relatives sent them to us, we had no access to vitamins. Both versions are SO versatile and delicious! In tea, in hot water, and even in wodka, Slivovic, etc. (Mum's cure-all for the flu was a big dollop of honey/ginger/lemon in a small glass of wodka or Slivovic and it DID seem to work LOL She'd toss in black pepper if our noses were stuffed up). I'm married to a Korean, and they sell huge jars of "tea" that's very similar to this (but not as concentrated). I know people who laugh that we use this so much - yet they spend a small fortune on Manuka honey for daily teaspoons LOL Anyone not sure if they should try this - TRY IT! You'll never stop!

Long time. You love it long time. If mold on top just scrape away and drizzle honey on top.

@@TechnologistLive I washed my ginger before placing them in my jars...I didn't dry them. Is this a problem? Plus I kept it in the pantry for one day before placing them in the fridge. I didn't burp them until this morning since they were in the fridge. But every day I flipped them upside down or right side up. Is this okay? Also I only had store bought honey, not raw honey. Will this make a difference? I have noticed my honey is pretty thin now...could this be because I put the ginger and honey in hot sterilizedd jars or because they were still wet when i put them in the jars?? How would I know if I have created Botulism? I'm new to all of this. Sorry for so many questions?

@@rosyc7094 water from washing will dilute the honey. No need to store in refrigerator at all. Store bought is going to be corn syrup or at least corn syrup based. Open air allows to dehydrate some of the excess moisture and stirring in open air allows yeast to get into it. You are creating ginger flavored corn syrup. Probably will be tasty..botulism is anaerobic and needs right ph as well, won't grow in what your doing. .... Get some good honey. Put thin sliced ginger in, as much as you can. Put a loose lid on. Stir every couple days or daily. Don't use refrigerator at all. Life is about experimentation. There's no One right way, , but many many ways ...

I had my ginger nicely diced and put in a clean jar with the addition of raw honey. I kept the jar on my kitchen counter top and stir it every day for a less than a week. Today I noticed a little white/ greenish mold developing around the top of jar which I carefully removed it from the rim. Could you please advise me on this ? Thanks

Guita Sadegh this sounds really strange... was your ginger fresh? Or possibly something might be wrong with the honey.. Raw Honey shouldn’t ever mold as it has natural enzymes it it that prevent it from going bad.

Did you sterilize the jar before?

The contents (lemon and ginger) should’ve been weighted down, from what I understand. Any fruit that was allowed to rise above the liquid would’ve been susceptible to mold...even in a clamp jar with a gasket. Stirring only distributed the mold spores throughout the mixture.

Unfortunately We All Are Learning what has been done to our FOOD!! Corn syrup in honey, legal without labeling as such! Also olive oil has become a scam as well with small percents of true olive oil! It is a very difficult thing to deal with when shopping and the more aware we are and speak up about these products that are falsely advertised as true pure ingredients, it's mind blowing to look into it and I'd love to see a show on the subject, I just think it might be too controversial for you tube. What do you think?

I would think so. You don't want water in it as I believe that could cause mold.
