Fern Canyon in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in California has to be one of the top highlights of our visit to Redwoods National and State Parks. It's worth all the hype and works it takes just to get to the Fern Canyon loop trailhead. This place looks straight out of the Jurassic Park era. In fact, Fern Canyon was actually used as a film location for Jurassic Park 2. Fern Canyon Trail is a hidden paradise consisting of towering walls covered in luxuriant ferns and mosses, small dripping waterfalls, river crossings, and a beautiful dense forest.

I think this is Luke from TCG channel. Nice that you went to Fern Canyon, we went as well and it was SO SO beautiful. I wish we could build a huge greenhouse cathedral in the AV and grow a replica of this in it. That would be great!

Just a heads up. We have heard that they might have some sort of permit system in place now. You might want to look into it before you go.

Big question: what's the story with regard to mountain lions and bears? Have they ever been spotted in this area? Tight place to end up facing one. // The narrator sounds a lot like Forest from Musical Starstreams without the electronic voice manipulator.

Hey Noe! Thank you for your message. I did some research and couldn't find any accounts of anyone running into any predators in there. It is nature though, so I don't want to say that it isn't possible. Hopefully, we won't have to worry about it :). We haven't seen that musical yet but now we will have to check it out!

@@LiveThatAdventure Musical Starstreams is a syndicated radio show that usually airs on either Saturday or Sunday late at night. Usually appears on college radio stations, not on commercial ones. // Thanks for the info about the predatory animals. The bear attack videos on KZfaq scare me out of my chair.

@@rr7firefly I kind of doubt that they would be down there. It is a pretty busy area and doubt that they would want to be around the crowds. I think you would have room to get out of there if you saw one.
