Yes he was a flop when you look at the figures, but most Chelsea fans when thinking about Torres remember the goal in the Nou Camp (that while technically insignificant released all the tension from one of the most stressful nights of our lives supporting Chelsea), remember that it was him that won the corner that lead to Drogba's goal in the CL Final, and all those negative feelings we felt at the time just wash away. It's quite telling that despite how bad he was for us through large spells of his time at the club how the live crowds always stuck by him & few fans have scathing things to say about him in hindsight. He always tried & always spoke highly of the club, specifically the fans, and does so to this day.

@@SomeUnremarkableGuy It wasn't confidence that ruined him, he got a big injury at the 2010 world cup final, that and a few injuries prior to that he lost a yard of pace and never hit that top form again. If you actually look at his career for all clubs he was never that clinical in front of goal bar that one amazing first season at liverpool. he averaged about 15-20 goals in all competitions per season. I'm a torres fan but he was never a van nistelrooy or henry in terms of world class center forward for goals.
