I saw Martin Mull do a show on South St. Early 80s on Halloween nite. Great show. South St in philly was crazy. The chicken I went with was crazy. Crazy nite

Elvis would be proud. Especially with those dance moves. Some real talent on that stage.

Mary’s dramatic opening theme with (I think) her characters’ mother calling out “Mary Hartman! ... Mary Hartman!” No laugh track either, IIRC. What a weird and great show.

Not sure. Just remember South St on Halloween nite was crazy. But good crazy. No gun shots. No killings on Action News the next morning. I miss the 80s

@@brianboisguilbert6985 all of the fernwood shows and mary hartman mary hartman can be found on youtube. i agree some things can't and shouldn't be repeated. you could never have the freedom that this show had, even though you can swear until you're blue in the face on t.v. these days.

Martin Mull was a bad ass guitar player in addition to being a very funny comedian. I recall watching this show when I lived in Denver in '77 and '78. I loved the show but so much of the humor rested on sarcasm, irony, and those don't play well here in the states.
