Meet the all-new Ferrari 12 Cilindri!
It’s Ferrari’s replacement for the 812 Superfast, and it may just be the last V12-fronted Ferrari ever released! But with that in mind, could it potentially be the greatest Ferrari ever released?! Let’s take a closer look.
Starting with the design, if anything it’s not exactly instantly recognisable as a Ferrari! Rather than look similar to the 812, Ferrari wanted the Cilindri to be modern and futuristic, with very few sharp creases or sculptured body panels. However, fear not Ferrari fans! There are still a few classic design elements, including the design of the daytime running lights, and the way the headlights wrap around the front bumper, similar to the 365 Daytona.
Step inside, and the interior seriously reminds us of the Purosangue - apart from the lack of back seats, of course! There are three screens on the inside, including one on the dash for the passenger. There’s also lashing of Alcantara throughout, but would you expect anything else from a Ferrari that will likely cost £300,000+?
Now let’s get to the centrepiece of the 12 Cilindri - the engine! It’s based on the 6.5-litre V12 from the old 812 Competizione, and it generates an eye-watering 830hp and 678Nm of torque! It comes with a couple of key upgrades over the old engine, including special aluminium alloy pistons, and titanium con-rods that are 40% lighter than the steel ones.
