We were out testing the new tire setup on the Supra when we encountered a Ferrari 458 Italia in the wild! As we were getting ready to do some 2nd gear brake boost traction testing the Ferrari did an eargasmic flyby. We caught up to him and he wanted to give it a go! knowing we were faster we gave him a good head start before reeling him in. Props to the ferrari owner for actually having some fun with his supercar!

I'm a muscle car guy by my DNA, but those Supras were serious business and could be seriously modded, their engines were overbuilt and had a lot more quality than the 50k price tag had back then. A 10 grand investment, what do you get ? A Ferrari killer and a car that still a lot more reliable.

I think you guys have it wrong here. If anyone had a choice to have one of these cars I'd imagine no one would pick the supra. The Supra might be faster however it is modified. The price tag of a Ferarri isn't just for performance, it is for style, feel and performance and I think the Ferarri out matches the Supra in everyone of those categories combined. So when one mentions ( "how much did you pay for your car"?) don't assume your car is better because it can beat the other car in a race.

The price tag of a Ferrari is more from the prestige and reputation that Ferraris have gained over time. I've never driven a 458, so I can't say anything about the "feel" of the car, but I do know that Ferraris of today are missing a certain raw driving experience that older cars (like our Supra here), can still pull out of you.

The Ferrari was pretty light on the throttle. I raced one with my SLK55AMG and the Ferrari roasted me. The sound was deafening. I highly doubt that supra is THAT quick. Much more likely, the Ferrari driver knew how to feather the accelerator and wasn't bagging on his expensive car.

Stock 2JZ Block makes 800HP and that's enough for the Ferrari. highly modified Toyota gos up to 1500-2000HP. In this price range Ferrari have no chance. I can understand the anger and hatred of those who bought expensive Ferraris but thats the reality Guys.

Not really, the Supra can also drive normally. Under 2000RPM does not happen much. But from 4000RPM it starts slowly and then goes to 9000RPM. That's the mode for racing at the Supra. And is easier to take than the Lambo. Just accelerate!

Jérémie Allard Get a new argument, all Ferraris 2012 and newer get free maintenance for 7 years. And about the 300 days a year thing, okay, if thats how you'd use a Ferrari, good for you. I'd drive it everyday the weather is nice. You can't bring how the average owner uses a car into a debate over a car... it's irrelevant.

EJ257IHI Hahaha, when did i ever say i would want to be all about status? Rolls Royce, that is status. Ferrari, that is performance, and they happen to look beautiful. You just see Ferraris as accessories, very sad. I would get a Ferrari because i want a ferrari. They excite be with their look, sound, performance etc. To hell with someone else thinks, i like the damn car! If a Ferrari isn't your thing then good for you, you're not convincing me to dislike Ferrari anytime soon. Where are you trying to get at here?

Much respect from an ISF owner. I always wanted a Supra back in the 90's and was never able to afford one. I recently got a ride in a 1000 bhp Supra, They are incredible machines. Thanks for the video!

I gotta tell this story so excuse the long comment.... I bought a 1988 Pontiac Bonneville with a broken in 3800 V6 front wheel drive not the SSE because its super heavy compared to the LE, it was a very fast car to be stock, so one day I pulled on the side of a Turbo Supra had to be about a 2005 with an old man behind the wheel in Orlando FL, I'm thinking to myself this old man ain't gonna do nothing once the light changed and I mashed on it......... All I heard was something that sounded like a beast off a Sci-Fi movie and a white Supra with an old man driving pass me like i never touched the accelerator I WAS HUMBLED LIKE A MF 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I couldn't agree with you anymore. and as a side note, that 458 Italia is that fast out of the door with no modifications done to it. the supra needs mods to hang. and in no way am I bashing the supra at all. I'm jealous that I'm not the owner of either of them. 2 well built cars there. nicely done to the owners.

I doubt he felt too bad, because at the end of the day he still has a 458 sitting in his garage. I love super Supras as much as the next car nut but I'd still take the 458 over any Supra any day of the week, just for the incredible handling alone. Well also the sound that a 458 makes is a huge deciding factor in that too.

I owned a twin turbo supra 10 years back. It wasn’t tuned or any mods. Just factory fast and delimited. It scared the shit out of me. I maxed out at 175mph then I got scared 😆 I was told if I’d been braver it would do 190 + Beast of a car. I paid £5000 uk pounds. £5000. For 175mph. What a machine. Mind it was lethal in the rain. 360 degrees many times 😂 I quickly learned to drift it.

Driving a supra in the rain is almost a death wish. I had one for seven years. To this day I have never driven a car that was so scary to drive in the rain as that supra.

pokermel - I had an ‘86 Rx7. That thing was scary as hell in the rain too. I can only imaging the TT Supra. Never got to ride in or drive one, but my best buddy had an eagle talon.....AWD though. That’s the closest I got to being in a sup
