The 458 Speciale will go down in history as one of the greatest sounding V8 powered Ferrari's ! I'm still surprised that Ferrari chose to go forced induction while Lamborghini is sticking to NA

No doubt the Lambo is better. sad because this was one of the things I loved the most about my Ferrari 458 Italia--and its lost with the turbos of the 488 sadly.

+Jesse Mitchell This is more of a personal preference and not a fact. Turbo charged engines can be made lighter, more powerfull and with the right setup get a decent powerband. Also, turbo sound is awesome. To be honest though, ferraris and lambos sound so good if they are NA

Well frankly i find the crackles quite annoying, screws the whole rumble of that beautiful aspirated v10, on the other hand despite the turbo, ferrari did a great job at sound, the gearshifts on the ferrari sounds refined, smooth and like a proper sports car...........i'm sure the 488 is faster on track and straight, more of a funky vs sporty comparison between these 2 cars

MrBasinator This new market based on turbo engines ruined the sound of this V8 not the Ferrari. However it is the fastest car of his category on the straight and on the track. Only Porsche 911 turbo S can do better from 0-100.

Mario Montana I agree, it's the hypocrisy of the government which led to make almost every car use a turbo these days, even supercars. But Lamborghini is still using it though, so I don't quite get why Ferrari wouldn't.

Maybe because the extra power of two turbos is more important than sound. Ferrari is born on track while lambos were tractors.

Italian cars are incredible. Either you choose a Ferrari or Lamborghini. But I like only NA Engines, coz if you want to hear sports cars sound then you should go for NA engines.

That wasn't a fair comparison, at the inside recording the Ferrari has much others cars on the street and was driven tamer while the Lambo has a free drive. Nevertheless Imho Ferrari sounds better because of its deeper growl and looks way better - Pininfarina art lines!
