I know this is an old comment, but still relevant today. As you can see here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNt1gMuXqZbJc30.html , Lamborghini’s design language aims to a more solid, “mono” body design. They also use far more sharper lines and geometrical forms. On the contrary, Ferrari’s designs aim to a more curvilinear and detached form.

+toobad Development of LaFerrari started many years before anyone saw a GT. LaFerrari is 2013 car, Ford GT will be 2017 car. If there's a company which copy anything, it's Ford as always. Look how they stole the Aston Martin's design on the latest models.

+toobad flying buttress is not Ford GT unique feature. Many Ferrari's had that before, 599 for example.

+Radek Vinš i agree. also some elements of the two 1:1 models look oddly similar to p1, even the front of the profile drawing at 0:41 has a front end that looks similar to p1. i wonder if some of these designs was leaked before they want them to go public.

@@popeyeisgood No, one thought can be thought by many people. Of course it's easier if you know the thought you wanne be thinking. It's a central part of design to think things further, so if everybody start's with the same base knowledge, of the designs that are already out there, it's easy to take the next step in the same direction. You see it also alot in science - especially back in the day: People proofing things, that already been proofen, because they weren't aware of that the proof already existed, because it's been publisched in a different country in a different language for example. For example, the Gaussian elimination, for solving linear equation systems, named after it's „inventor” mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, was already known to the Chinese some 2000 years before. Another example: Differetiaton of functions was independently developed by Newton and Leibniz. Even the internal combustion engine, many people worked on that independently, it was just the next logical step. What i can think of, is that maybe some designers changed their employer, from McLaren to Ferrari or the other way around. But similaritys in design can verry possible be there without anyone spying on someone or something getting leaked.

YOU HAVE A BAD TASTE IN DESIGN THEN.

In my opinion, the LaFerrari is by far the best of all the cars you mentioned (at least design-wise, not talking about performance). Many McLarens look all similar and they're just designed for speed, which is fine for a performance car, but absolutely lack elegance and style. Porches are just boring...and the 918 is not much different from the other even tough is a great car. The only one that gets close or might be better is the Huayra because it has extreme attention to details and a very original yet elegant design
