Festival Variations 2021 : 3 questions à... Kali Malone

"3 questions à...", un format court pour en savoir un peu plus encore sur les artistes et les œuvres que vous avez aimées pendant le festival !
Face caméra, Kali Malone évoque son premier souvenir d'un clavier (le piano familial et son attrait pour les seules touches noires !). Elle revient également sur cette année 2020 qu'elle estime avoir été propice à la création. Confinée à Berlin, l'artiste a ainsi pris le temps d'imaginer un ensemble de pièces pour chorale spécialement pour Variations.
Aux chants, elle associe les harmonies des orgues positifs, capables selon elle de provoquer à la fois des sensations physiques étonnantes et des réminescences émotionnelles fortes.

à propos de Variations
Depuis 2017, aux côtés de la Fondation BNP Paribas, le lieu unique - centre de culture contemporaine de Nantes - présente un festival autour des musiques pour piano et claviers : Variations.
À l'occasion de la 5e édition, du samedi 20 au dimanche 28 mars 2021, une vingtaine de concerts mais aussi une pièce de théâtre ont montré la richesse créative dans le domaine des musiques classiques, jazz, électroniques, expérimentales, improvisées ou traditionnelles ainsi que l’effervescence du mélange des genres autour d’un élément commun : le clavier.

Thank you for the background on the recently released recording session for vocal quartet and organ. Beautiful integration of diverse musical artistry, capturing the soulful and spiritual compositional origin of this piece. The wonderful space creates a rich depth and range that is powerful yet intimate. Excellent recording and lighting quality. A wonderful piece on many levels.

SHE straight up STOLE Ellen Arkbro’s style. She was not inspired by it. She straight up stole it. Compositional style, instrumentation. Everything. Imagine helping someone arise as they straight up highjack your style and sell it as theirs presenting themselves as the ones who came up w it lol poor ellen. Its too obvious one just has to listen to her releases from 2017 way before kali did.

I'm not sure, I think The Sacraficial Code is a fairly distinct body of work. It's very intimate and nostalgic and the organ has a very unique sound.

maybe you should open your ears and listen to how personal ellen and kali's music are and how it clearly sets them apart. their music is nothing alike, other than sometimes being drone pipe organ music. if you want to bring up ellen's debut albums, then it should be noted that kali's debut, "cast of mind" in 2018, is very clearly unlike anything ellen has made

I want to know you. And I want to travel playing various organs with you. I want to know what you know and share what I know as a person who plays instruments but doesn't call themselves a musician. You are astute and emboldened.

@@VambeefcoHorzey c'est nul à chi-r ! de l'escroquerie intellectuelle pour crétins sous acides ! qu' elle reste aux états unis , où beaucoup de ses compatriotes de Philadelphie ou d'ailleurs peuvent etres raccord ! mais pas dans nos églises en FRANCE ! même s'il y a des "chargés "cul turels nombreux parasitaires et des curés conciliaires modernistes qui sont des abrutis de première !
