I want to praise Festool customer service. My 4 mm cutter failed after 20 cuts. I called Festool on Monday and a replacement arrived in NJ today! I don’t think that they could have handled this any better.

I have a track saw and initially started off with two shorter tracks joined together to rip plywood. I must say that one solid track is the only way to go!!!!!!!

Sad but true, had this equipment for past ten years and had no idea what it did. Just never took the time to find out what it did and it collected dust. It will go back to work on Monday.

I just bought the set and used these to breakdown a 3/4 sheet to build a mobile compressor station with AZ drawers...They were flawless...Every measurement was square and perfect to dimension. I don't know about the TSO, but I know these work! Very happy.

one tip, at 16:27 in the V groove, add some white paint (sharpie marker) so this forms an arrow to define this as the refference mark.

Hi. Thanks for the onformative video. I recently purchased (on OfferUp) the Makita Track Saw system. My question: I'm looking into the TSO parallel guide system. They offer a 20" inch rail, a 30" rail, and a combo set of 30"/50" rail ($100 more than the 30" set). In my spare time, I enjoy building small furniture for family and friends (book cases, shelves, tables, etc. in my side-of-the-garage shop. In your opinion, which rail size would you recommend? Thanks again!

That's interesting. I am not sure about the cordless tracksaw though. I always wondered what's the purpose of buying a cordless track-saw and connecting a vacuum pipe to it. Just get the corded version and run the power line through the vacuum, thereby eliminating the need to pair your bluetooth batteries etc.
@gtjr1975
@gtjr1975 3 жыл бұрын
I know the word on the street is the older corded version seem to be under powered so a bunch of the IG influencers were pushing how good and more power the tsc seemed to have

There will probably be a cordless vacuum soon too, really eliminates the need for mains then. And if you're in the garden or something, the dust bag might be enough.

The only problem I have run into is keeping them balanced when using a shorter track. Most of the time I add the extensions just for a counter balance.

a question, at 28:06 do you have to calibrate these length stops when you change blades to, as some may have a different set, or kerf to them, so the distance from motor housing to the front tooth face is different.

I noticed that you did not tighten the two screws at each end to firmly lock each guide to the track as shown in the written instructions.

Sedge you really should not grip the timber behind the saw one pinch and that saw goes backwards. Trust me I lost a finger doing it.

What happens when the board you are ripping is shorter than the table /surface you are working on and you can not overhand the guides at the end? especially when using the narrow rip attachment? Would this be a limitation and prevent you from using this setup? I seem to like this better than other products on the market that seem to be a bit flimsy and probably prone to losing calibration.

WTF??? That's confusing.... 1.) Does the secondary button on the extractor hose (time mark @6:50) sync up the primary button on the same strap, or does it sync up the battery??? 2.) @29:30, why did you recalibrate the left side when you already calibrated it first?

Great video. Taught me a lot of tricks about the guides I've got. But the question asking "How do you make the guides longer"... Could you please let us know how, if possible, to make THE PARALLEL GUIDES longer (which I bet was also the intended question).
@gtjr1975

My guess is the attachments allow you to cut off a standard piece of sheet goods 49-48” meaning if the parallel guides only alllow 40” max then the attachments allow you to cut up to 8-9” safely & accurately. Those numbers were just an example
@gtjr1975
@gtjr1975 3 жыл бұрын
But I would still see a need for making them longer as sometimes you work with a 5’ sheet goods

Why a flathead large screw drive adjustment. Why not keep it conservative and consistent by using the 5mm hex?

at 22:02 one fact you did not say, is that this is way safer than a table saw, as YOUR hands are on the opposite side of the blade, one on the trigger, the other well clear, and the timber is clamped down to the table, so no possibility of accidents.
