Reupload, because I accidentally deleted it… please show this video some love!
Join us as we travel from Santander to Oviedo, in Spain. We're riding FEVE: Spain's meter gauge railway network. Our 166km (100 mile) trip will take 5:30 hours, taking us past lush green mountains and the bright blue Atlantic Ocean. This is the kind of trip bucket lists are made of.

Maybe you can help me. We wanne go back from Santiago de Compostela or Ferrol to Bilbao or near the french border. We have our bicycles with us and don´t want to dismantle them for transport. Do you have timetables or hints for us, to make this trip by train?

This is really making me miss Europe. I want to go back and do a train trip around Central Europe sometime in the next few years.

Fairly new to the channel but I thoroughly enjoy all of it. Next time you’re in NYC you should make a day out of Greenport. Montauk leaves you nowhere. The schedule sucks but it’s perfect for a day.

Something I didn't add in my original comment on the original video: It looks like C-9 had multiple flag stops between its connection to C-8/rest of the network in Cercadilla and Cotos, but all but one stop in between were suspended shortly after the Parque Warner/Antigo C-3a (the designation is now used for C-3a trains that travel north of Charmatin to Escorial, although due to work in the Sol tunnel between Sol an Nuevos Ministerios so C-2 will now become C-3a trains to Escorial, which I think C-2 trains should be doing anyway and C-3 and C-4 have a same core from Villaverde to Cantabalo with potential extensions to Miraflores and Fuente de Fresno/Algete, if Metro Madrid doesn't beat them). C-9 gives me the reason to return to Spain are when there theme parks open again after a brief hiatus between Dia de los Reyes (end of Christmas season) and the last weekend of February. More parks in Europe and the US are now running weekends year round like Phanasialand near Colone or Kings Dominion in Busch Gardens Williamsburg on the SE fringe of the North East Corridor

4:22 Me parece que sí que tiene baño. El que seguro que lo tiene es el 3800 (el de la vía de al lado, que hace un servicio de cercanías).

Yes, Thom different railway gauges - are not a problem in most countries including the USA generally. However here in Australia, we have 3 rail gauges. My state, New South Wales has standard gauge, however, other states have very different gauges. The state of Queensland has narrow, as does Tasmania (named after the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman who also discovered New Zealand) & Western Australia. The state of Victoria had broad gauge. Whilst the state of South Australia has all 3!. Crazy you say but yes this all had to do with different British colonial governments prior to our Federation in 1901. Anyway, today standard gauge operates between all the state & capital territories.

Speaking of train rail gauge, San Francisco’s BART system uses a 5’ 6” gauge, also called the “Indian Gauge.” Why? From what I just looked up, it seems that the system designers thought that the lighter car design could get blown off the tracks by a crosswind. The false economy was that they had to pay extra for custom designed track maintenance equipment rather than being able to purchase “off the shelf.” Your tax dollars at work!
