The most important tool that carpenters use for working wood is the table saw. However, a table saw is not a cheap tool. There was no table bench in our workshop. That's why we built ourselves a drill-driven table saw for woodworking in this DIY video on how to make a table saw. We also connected a vacuum cleaner to this homemade table saw, so our table saw also has dust collection.

incredibly unsafe. The construction of this "hack" alone should make anybody who wants to build it stop. Then the demonstration with no push rods or safety shields of any kind is begging for an amputated finger. Please don't do this. I salute your ingenuity, but I am asking the video maker to take this video down so it doesn't lead to someone getting seriously injured trying to emulate this saw. For what was spent on the angle grinder and the materials you can buy a cheap table saw.

This video is an accident waiting to happen to someone. I worked as an industrial fabricator for many years, and I've seen lots of mishaps in the shop, everything from lost fingers, to concussions and more. Mostly by trainees and by people improperly using equipment or taking short cuts. If you are watching this, please don't do it!

People that turn the other way on things like improper guarding and materials are the same people that show off missing fingers as some kind of badge of honor. The personal insult wasn't necessary especially since you have no clue what I can or can't do, but I forgive you.

"Question" How much are your finger worth? ANYONE thinking of trying this should ask this question! I would strongly encourage anyone reading this to simply BUY A SKILL SAW. Trust me, it's always a bad day to see the terror on a grown mans face while he's clutching his hand with a few missing fingers. The price of the right tool is ALWAYS much cheaper than the risk of loosing a few fingers.

At first I was expecting this video to be a joke when I saw the 7" blade on a drill. I totally would have rigged this up when I was ten years old and that is the problem, no respectable adult or professional would ever consider building this. Among all the obvious safety concerns the one that makes me cringe is the damn soft pine you use for the clamp. I mean seriously do you have any idea what would happen if you try to cut a piece of lumber and pinch the blade? Let me break this down for you so you get a vivid picture, the torque will quickly snap the soft wood clamp you made and the drill then goes flying violently in any direction it can. The blade catches whatever the hell it wants and proceeds to rip around the room until the power is cut or ripped off. Forget losing a finger this thing will kill you. Please do society a favor if you have to show us how to save money then maybe do a series on safe ways to scrap metal then take what you earn and buy a real table saw. This is worse then the third world shit I would see in Africa.

Clever, but I’ll stick to my table saw that came with guards. Also I like the height adjustment for the blade on my table saw. I guess if you can’t afford a table saw, this would work. It seems to awfully dangerous though.

No es buena idea por muchas razones,y la primera y mas importante es lo INSEGURO que es ese proyecto,otra cosa,la potencia de un taladro no es suficiente para ese uso,tampoco esta diseñado para eso,para eso ya se han fabricado una maquina para cada uso en particular,al igual que usar una amoladora angular...he visto manos mutiladas por este tipo de proyectos. Si no nos alcanza el presupuesto busquemos otras alternativas mas viables y por sobre todo MAS SEGURAS. En las chatarrerías se consiguen muchas cosas realmente muy interesantes y a precios irrisoriamente bajos,es solo cuestión de darnos un poco de idea,aparte en este canal hay muchos videos que nos pueden servir como guía. Espero tengan en cuenta este humilde consejo y no cometan una equivocación irreversible. Saludos

Мне всегда интересно было, как эти экземпляры доживают до зрелого возраста? И некоторые при этом сохраняют парные конечности. Хотя число пальцев на правой и левой, порой, сильно разнятся. Дрель предназначена только для осевой нагрузки. И даже если вы не отпилите себе пальцы, то скоро пойдёте в магазин за новой дрелью, благополучно угробив эту. Наиболее сообразительные заодно купят и циркулярку. Более тупые экземпляры будут продолжать изучать цепочку действий "собрал хрень - купил новую дрель" до тех пор, пока не обнаружить связь между этими действиями.

Es peligroso cortar piezas largas del lado ancho sin regla! Y también los taladros giran en los dos sentidos, si por error hacen girar en reversa con el disco de corte puesto, el seguro se puede aflojar y el disco va salir volando girando a alta velocidad, rebanando todo lo que encuentre en su paso.

Verry Dangerous, no safety guards or riving knife plus I don't think a drill can handle the torque needed for ripping lumber and sheet goods. Most Table Saws & Circular Saws are 15 Amps this drill is 600W using about 5 Amps. When the material binds or kicks back he may have a problem either the drills motor burns up or a safety hazard is created. Kickbacks can happen even on the best-equipped table saw with no safety measures it's much worst. If you can't afford a Table Saw get a Circular Saw with a Kreg Rip-Cut to start with it, This would most likely cost less than the materials plus a drill to build. You can get a 15 Amp 7-1/4" Skillsaw for $50 plus the Rip-Cut is $40. Right now Home Depot has a Ryobi 13 Amp 8-1/4" Table Saw for a $119 Black Friday deal granted it may not be the best but it's inexpensive.
