Good idea! Where I live you can just buy the fitting, but I'm sure in other areas of the world that's not the case. This would also be handy if in a remote area, say off the grid you could probably use light heat from a torch and get the same effect.

It'd be fair to assume that if hose pipes are readily available then the fittings are, it's also highly unlikely there'd be plumbers merchants aswell had that been the case

@JENSEN DIY Let me get this straight. In other areas of the world where there's access to KZfaq, a heat gun, and spare PvC piping, there aren't threaded fittings? Imagine the market profit to be the one to introduce a threaded fitting just for pvc... or even a pipe threader! That way there would be no need for people to burn themselves heating up pvc pipe! Oh I think it should also be mentioned the heating pvc to the temp of modeling not only releases toxic gas, it also causes plastic to become brittle. So should anyone do fall on that one side of the world, please remember to use gloves, have proper ventilation and, do not heat mold pvc more the two times.

When your not a plumber you don't realize plumbers are either laughing at you. Or the only one with a heart is begging you please don't do this much better easier less problem causing ways to help yourself without giving yourself a high water bill or ruining your home. It's not worth it unless you just can't get it because of war or the walking dead becomes real life. Go spend a dollar fifty for a foot of 3/4 pipe a female adapter and a coupling prime and glue them together screw your hose bib into female adapter you did the same thing no heat gun required you saved a lot of money that heat gun for one use is not worth buying unless you just want to drop 250 on the heat gun. At which point you could hire me and save money. And you did not flood your house using sketchy handyhack tricks. What it comes down to is this, you are free to do whatever you want, but don't shit on other peoples ideas and call them pointless, sometimes you need to think outside of the box and just because it does not fit in your box does not mean it is wrong or even pointless. In a perfect world, we would all live 5 minutes away from a hardware store or be Prime members with same day delivery from Amazon, but what if you are running a remote small family mining operation in the middle of nowhere and you don't have everything you need to repair something? the answer is you have to be resourceful and work with what you have, I am speaking from experience. Definitely a great idea when you don't have the PVC threaded adapters. Neat trick heating the end of the PVC for swaging it to fit over the other pipe. Going to start doing that for frames I make out of PVC. Also for threading as well. Both techniques would also be great when building PVC frames not used for plumbing. Adapters and elbows add up in cost when you don't have any money!

I can't thank you enough for making this video . Yes there are fittings that can be purchased ,But this looks so much cleaner and better . I will definitely take mine apart and thread the PVC pipe . Just because it’s “cleaner or better” doesn’t mean it’s proper and up to code, there was no primer on that glue joint and it would’ve been simpler to just buy a male adapter fitting and a bushing to transition over to garden hose threads.

This is a great idea to waste time doing things the wrong way and effectively making it take longer. This video is great for those people in life who spend more time trying to get out if doing something, than just doing it the right way. You can effectively do this with the right tools and fittings in 1/10 of the time.

Respeto la opinión de cada persona, pero si fuese un caso de emergencia o necesidad, todos tenemos pistolas de calor en nuestras casas? Otra pregunta. El calor que irradia no daña la conexión entre la manguera y su terminal?
