As per patch 6.3, curing waltz and shield samba can be used during standard step and technical step. Keep in mind this will clip your gcd so its mostly useful during down time when youre preparing your dance.

Can I also just say how absolutely lovely it is to have the refreshing classical music in the background and with an appropriate volume? I struggle so much with certain videos because the bg music is often so distracting, busy, loud, or harsh.

If I'm < 20 seconds out from my 2 minute burst window and cap on my Esprit/Feathers, is it best to hold off on Saber Dance and Fan Dance for the burst window or continue to use them at cap as usual?

For the reopener you mentioned holding standard to properly align technical step. Would it be a dps gain to always use standard after technical?

Usually for a reopener you prep SS and then go into tech. Using standard after teach is only a gain if you do not have any procs or saberdances to spend

i have a question. lets say im about to reach the 2 minute burst window and my technical step is about to be up to use (8 secs before its up) i do the burst window and then after that i use standard step? Another question.... if i have for example fountainfall, reverse cascade and saber dance available to use and i need to use technical step for the 2 minute burst window... should i delay the usage for them to use technical step? Ive been struggling a lot to increase my parse and im trying to get better. Thanks for this guide i appreciate it =)

Yea as long as technical doesnt drift you still send SS Yes so long you dont overcap or overwrite them Good luck! You can do it

I got a question, I know it’s been a year so I don’t know if anyone will respond, but with flourish can I technically use that twice because it’s a 60 sec cooldown and tech step is 120 sec cooldown, so could I weave flourish in once I’ve finished the second standard step while tech step is halfway through cooldown?

Yes, you use it on cooldown. So with technical finish and once inbetween each usage.

So let me get this straight, its better to save your fourfold feathers for the 2 min burst than to spend them as they come?

yep, hold on to 3 charges for the burst and spend any 4ths you get to prevent overcapping. Doing this allows your tech and devilment to buff your feathers damage and increases your damage significantly

This was the hardest thing for me to stop doing when I finally settled into DNC being my main. I still find myself sometimes going for the button when it lights up immediately on proc xD

I'm not really getting why wouldn't you use Flourish after the first standard finish and then go to technical step cause I don't think it clips anything if you do? Am I wrong here?

It has to do with ping. You can only flourish when in combat so you would need to weave it after SS hits in your prepull. A lot of people clip Tech because of this which is pretty bad as it misaligns your buffs. If you can pull it off without clipping or losing proc’s then by all means you are free to do it, it could net you one extra usage if you have a kill time around x:07.

For 6.2, your DP prio list is incorrect. Great video, just wanted to point out the oversight.

Quick Tip for new dancers, don't use En Avant in direction to a wall/board of a arena, especially in High-End content 💀

En Avant is amazing, it makes DSR and TOP so comfy. Gotta learn to use it though, and not kill yourself yea

The opener clip used the abilities in a different order from the balance one? They used fan dance IV > tillana > fan dance iii ? Why is that? Shouldn’t it be fan dance iii > tillana > fan dance IV ?

Looking at FFLogs and recent Savage and Ultimates, I would say dance partners would be NIN>MNK>SAM>DRG>RPR>BLM>SMN>RDM>MCH>BRD>DNC

Thats incorrect, the most recent DP priority is actually: sam>nin>mnk>rpr>drg>blm>smn>rdm>mch>brd>dnc This video was made in 6.1 however is still relevant barring the dance partner part which you should be using partner calc for anyway.

Was curious about the hotbar buttons you use in the video. Is there any reason/advantage to arrange the ability/weaponskills in this way (e.g. is it more intuitive to press)? Cause mine is simply 1234 for the weaponskills so trying to understand why you arranged your ability/weaponskills the way you did in the video.

Theres no reason, this is just what’s comfortable for me. Not everyone has the same hand size, finger dexterity, or even setup (mmo mouse/controller) so you should just bind how its most comfortable for you.

why not use saber dance at 50 gauge, why hold it to 80 gauge???

This is due to your buffs. You want high potency actions such as saber dance to be used as much as possible within devilment and technical finish. 80 esprit is the point until we can hold without risking overcap which is why we prefer holding until 80 to have a higher chance of having esprit going into buffs. If you spend at 50 you might not get a lot for esprit back before the buffs and thus have a less powerful burst. Spending at 80 guarentees you have atleast 30 left still.

Hello! Trying to improve as a dancer but I seem to keep getting this suggestion on analysis about "# feathers may have been lost" but there are runs that I'm sure I never capped my feathers, is there a tip to improve on this or is this normal for any DNC to get due to procs?

Heya, try to hover 3 feathers and spend any fourths you gain unless you’re about to enter a tech window.

Umm one more question as I struggle a bit with this but is there any advice on espirit capping I seem to can't control it easily and I overcap when some guide says to use it when it gets to 80 but my partner gives me espirit randomly so it caps on inconvenient times, is this a common problem that even expert dancers go through and have to just accept?

@@Auharu during tech windows use it at 50, outside you can use it at 70 or even 60 aslong as you know youll have 80 by the time tech comes off cd

@@Juliacare Thank you for the tip and sorry if my reply is late. I'm applying all your tips on my current weekly run and it's helping me slowly improve. I hope to one day get really better with DNC despite people whining about its low dps I love how it supports the team. :) Also you mentioned Noclippy and Alexander umm where do you get those programs?

@@Auharu xivalexander is a stand alone program whilst noclippy is a plugin for the dalamud launcher. Just google them and you’ll find it.

@@alexnguyen7385 thats just the simple version of the job gauge. Go into the hud editor and when selecting your job gauge, tag simple version.

until they stop ignoring our data, forum posts and direct feedback about the netcode. I will not stop recommending noclippy or xivalexander. People with 100ms are at a substantial disadvantage without them. This can all be solved relatively easily but SE chooses to ignore that this is an issue in the first place and keeps pointing at our ISP providers instead. Monkeys honestly.

@@Robulite they’ve been sent entire documents covering the issue since the start of SB, yet they chose to ignore it or blamed the ISP’s instead whilst addons solved the issue with ease. Not sure why SE can’t just do that as well. Guess ignorance is bliss.
