Same here, been playing for 2 weeks now and I just finished Heavensward. My first job is also dragoon and I already knew Estinien before meeting him again in Heavensward. It's a very cool feature if you chose dragoon for this story arc

What I found really cool is that I only had Dragoon up to around level 40, so nobody recognized me as an Azure Dragoon BUT Estinean recognized me from our encounter early on in the class quests

The use of the organ and harpsichord, and dramatic ‘baroque-like style def capture that ‘no warmth’ feeling. The music team really nails it. Then again, I expect no less from Japan’s music minds.

I started FF14 2 Weeks ago and I was in love in an instant. When I completed A Realm Reborn and visited Ishgard for the very first time with this theme... I now know, that I will play this game till it shuts down!

I know right ;_; I remember after I first entered I thought I don't mind being a wanted criminal my whole life if I can just stay in Ishgard. I love the place and the story, don't know why but it did make me feel at home much more than my starting city or any of the others.

Heyzar Bahamala They're still considering putting housing in Ishgard. Who knows when it will happen though, it's taken almost 4 years just to get instanced apartments :(

Dude, yes! Spoiler-y post below, careful, do not read if you care about the story and have not finished Stormblood: It was cool seeing Kan-E-Senna, Admiral Merlwyb, and of course Raubahn, but when I turned the corner in The Lochs and saw Sir Aymeric the Blue, a dumb smirk was plastered over my face against my will. Then again, I felt that way every time I saw a Knight of the Holy See there. Like, we truly *earned* those allies! It was much more gratifying to see them.

On one hand, I feel proud because hell yeah Ishgard, and I play an Elezen, but also kinda feel bad because of the fact that Elezens (at least Wildwood ones) are just this game's equivalent of rich, conservative white people. 🙃

+Fángy Kesshai I can't use Ishgard as my base city because of that. Especially the night theme reminds me so strongly of Haurchefant it hurts. He was the brightest man this city will ever see, and Ishgard never really deserved him.

His brothers also aspiring to be like him, and the old adage being proven true again that one never knows how much one loves someone until they are gone. I think, in the end, he was the true hero in the whole story... we have hydaelyn's blessing, but we can't save our friends when their time has come. however, Haurchefant did everything he did, without any echo. it was all his own strength and will power. and in the end, he changed everyone around him. he was like the fuel to a machine that he himself didn't know anything about. he wasn't aware of his power to bring change.

Transmog ? Really ? The transmog system of WoW is far superior to the one in FF14, it's overly complicated and tedious.

@@guilhemrouanet1145 by "transmog," he probably means the cosmetics, not the system. And I gotta agree with him, the plate armors in FFXIV actually have models and not just plate textures on a cloth like in WoW.

The place looks absolutely amazing tbh (even if it needs upkeep indeed), I wish something of this caliber really existed in Europe but even awesome stuff like the Mont St Michel aren't quite at this level. As a town Ishgard is a fantasy wet-dream in terms of architecture and atmosphere.
