In 1985 my dad had a 1585 CL with the ohv engine I think. He had it for 5 years and it only broke down once at our house, needing only a fan belt. It was a 1981 car and a year later it was rusting like mad. Jacking her up put the Jack through the floor, lol. When the back box was rusting off her it made a sound that I have never heard the bettering of, when my dad dropped from 5th to third during an overtake, the bark made my spine tingle. Most reliable car he ever had. XOI 158 was the reg, in 5 years it never had so much as an oil change 😂😂

What a fabulous idea and so well executed. Best Abarth colour too. Well done Dai. The decision to keep the Series 3 door mirrors is sound as they are superior to all other 131 mirrors. Love the white tyre lettering. Rear lights look new. What have you done to the engine?

OUD 522P. was my Dads 131s that me and my sister learnt to drive in and we both took our driving tests in, and passed.

Jesus this takes me back bro I had 1.6 auto estate 131 as my first car you can guess the second car yep 131 supermorafiori 2.0tc and my god it was rapid as hell the bloke two doors down was fiat master mechanic so he put everything on it me and my dad went out and give a "good run" yes we give it some hammer came back and I couldn't write the check fast enough great memories thrust into my head cheers mate happy rolling tcb

Very very creative and well done I love 131s I have 2 ... this reminds me how a Mercedes 190 cosworth can be beautiful and still have 4 doors

Wow it's awesome this Abarth replica my Dad owned all 3 131 Mirafiori's Mk 1 2 and 3 they were rust buckets but a great family car👍👍👍👍

It still amazes me that the italians can essentially take a Lada Riva 3 box design and make it look sexy!!! credit where its due . I love these cars

The rear arches look like they were tricky to fabricate ......to allow the rear doors to open....?

Rear arches took a bit of time but wanted to keep the rear doors accessible. Xxx

O and to stop rust my dad's trick which worked a treat cuz it never rotted jcb grease pumped into all orifices take heed bruv cuz they do rot like a curry going through you on a Saturday night lol
