Great vid! About to tackle this on our Ford KA MKII Diesel. Pagid pads T1832, would I need to put grease on the back of those?

I would recommend using an axel stand also using something to hold up the caliper rather than let it hang on the brake line👍

Quick tip for anyone planning to do this job. Fiat 500/Ford KA are pretty much the same car, but be careful when ordering discs and pads for them. Some have vented discs and some don’t. If you fit the cheaper solid discs where vented are supposed to be, the discs are too thin for the calliper bridge and the pads can fit between the disc and the carrier when they start to wear down and the pad gets thrown out, potentially leaving the driver in the somewhat less than ideal situation of not having any brakes.

@@aaanton11 yes mate. They’re the same dimensions but thicker. I’ve heard a few stories where people have fitted the solid ones in place of vented without realising it, or to save a bit of money and the pads have been thrown out about 1000 miles later 🤦‍♀️

Hi Anton can the slider pin be replaced the rubber dust cover on my fiat 500 has perished and you can see the pin cheers

thanks for youe videos on changing the brakes on a fiat 500 , just dont my wifes car all round , was nice and easy with the video to follow , but i did notice i think i need new caliper sliders as the seals have gone , i cant see how they come out and seperate from the carrier plate , would you have a video on how to change these at all ? many thanks andy

I use something to hold the caliper is much better and i clean the calipers all the time and use copper greas that make them move more free Sometimes wash it with jet pressure and apply spray grease on it (not on the disks)..o use brake cleaner.. very eady to replace pads and disks....

@aaanton11 over now pit it in also had 2 change the drivers door handle I found once I got it out it was easier to file a bit of metal off to put it back in
