Autism and other forms of neurodivergence are disturbingly, much more common now than they ever have been... or we are far more aware and accepting of these such conditions. And, emerging research is showing that neurodivergent traits are present in many people suffering with fibromyalgia. Is there a connection?

This is very interesting to me, I've had fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue for 16 years, Im 35 and in the process of being assessed for ASD, ive always suspected that i was on the spectrum.

This was fascinating to me. I have a grandson who has Asperger's and who has complained of back pain all his life, but no real cause has ever been found by doctors. I am going to explore this topic you have presented here further and follow any emerging research results in this area. Thank you so much for providing and posting this information.

I’ve had chronic pain since childhood, misdiagnosed as juvenile RA thankfully I didn’t take all the steroids that would otherwise would have ruined my growing body like it did my sister’s. I discovered about a year ago my symptoms are fibromyalgia not RA. Pain meds do no really work. I also discovered after my fibromyalgia discovery that I am on the spectrum (AuDHD). athe worst times of my fibromyalgia flare up is when I am approaching a meltdown or a shutdown.
