@@litjellyfishnot sure I was born in the 80s and do think to be a teen I. The 70/80s would have been amazing. As someone who experienced being a teenager with no internet and phones and then full smart phones I know it bought some positives but I do think overall there was something magical about the pre phone / social media era. Im thankful to have experience life without it for sure

@@ExplorewithSarahlouise for sure it was. Maybe not just due to the absence of mobiles but my first 7 years in the 70s magical in so many ways. Maybe because start of 80s meant starting school but I felt a very distinct change when we went into the 80s Also same as some felt internet and then smartphones as new thing coming. In the 80s the home computer and video games really took off. It was magic putting a coin into the machine and play pacman. And then run to find your friends to tell them. (I mean there was no mobiles so you usually needed to find them) And yes it was for sure less stress and more direct communication. Big topics as the new ice creams and collector cards. Then again I guess all kids have their magic moments I just happened to have mine in the same time era as “Stranger things” btw thank you for making me go back a bit and remember. I should do that more often 💚

When the record was released, I was 20, bought it right away and did not stop listening to it. Now I am sixty, and I am still in love with this beautiful song. And it takes me back to the 80ies, a wonderful time full of sensational music.

I had the intro melody of this song stuck in my head for almost half my lifetime, but I didn't know how to find the band's or the song's name, knowing well that the chance of finding out decreases with each passing hour due to more and more music being created and less people essentially remembering this song... ...Until yesterday evening, when I heard it play on the radio in a pub I was sitting in. I'd never ran so fast to a radio with the Shazam app open in my life. One of my life's mysteries solved. I'm on the verge of tears right now.

What? Drugs were invented way before the 80s. So was crime. Bombs were going off in the UK and France and other places. Terrorists hijacked planes regularly. But the music was awesome though.

Unappreciated? This song blasted like hell, it was all over the radio and tv. It was one of the most appreciated songs in its time. I thing it still is well rated arround.

That is so true ! Even though I'm more of a 60's and 70's man - I must admit that for POP music this was a golden era. I've never bought as many 45 singles as I did during the 80's and well into the 90's. Every week I bought from 2 or 3 to 4, 5 or 6 singles - and one hit after another just kept pouring out. And there were so many talented Artists and Bands that were struggling to reach the highest positions on the charts. But then, around 2000 it all suddenly died out. These days, perhaps I hear one POP song per month that has something similar to what was being cranked out every week during the 80's. "Rolling In the Deep" was a good one - and it gave me a flashback back to the 80's when I heard it - but it's really hard for me to think of any other really good ones from the last 2 decades. There are still some good music being made - but they are not what you can call POP songs.

Summer in the 80s cycling on my bike with my brothers cycling too listening to this classic on my Walkman! That scenario was heaven! ❤ in fact all of the 80s was heaven! Sorry if you weren't born then, I feel for you. We have great reminders like this classic to take us back!❤

Such a good song about Lucifer's sad , pointless descent from the gardens of paradise, into the lonesome desolate world of savage desire in his fractured heart. ..and now look where we find ourselves...in a demented state where the unsympathetic tyrannical grip of the banking system of globalists & corporations weigh down heavy upon our poor collective consciousness 's, like an avalanche of back-breaking steel/concrete mixed gravity.
