This scene terrified me when I was a kid. The amount of anger he had thinking he was just another journalist or fan of his book made me very uncomfortable. LOL

I wished this clip included the part of the scene where Mann asked Ray, "You're seeing a whole team of psychiatrists, aren't you?" That line always gives me a chuckle, along with the "We got a learning disability here?" Mann gets in some not-so-subtle insults in that Ray just shrugs off. (Of course, Ray was convinced that Mann was the person that he'd have to "Ease his pain.")

Terence Mann was basically based on J.D. Salinger. The plot of the original book had Kinsela kidnapping Salinger. Apparently John kinsela is a character name Salinger used. Terence Mann was created because they were afraid of a law suit from Salinger.

LOVE this film & as you can see, by using the word "film", I'm not an American, I'm Irish. Now I know it's the American pronunciation & I'm not complaining, but the name Kinsella isn't pronounced Kin-sella, it's all one word, "Kinsella".
