Bale length adjustment is a great improvement. The side tension adjustment requiring a wrench is a poor design. Tension needs to be a quick adjustment. Also the door to unplug the flake making chamber needs to be wrenchless access as well. I can see those bolts being lost in the loose hay being pull out from the plug already. Get the plug out and go to put the door back on and you lost a nut or bolt. No time for that, not to mention the time it takes to turn a wrench under a machine in the field

I have used the 1840 square baler It's a good baler But some of the issues i ran to are the hydraulic density control it's not Worth having if you bale everyday the spring tensioner are the way to go less maintenance Also the bale lengthening design suck on these balers i have had mine crack twice The 1838 bale lengthening design is better but they are interchangeable
