We varied cutting pressures and battery capacities on some seriously tough old wood.
this Stringy Bark log has been on the ground for 2+years drying out and was left there by the previous owner of the property.

Good ass testing. Cutting downed wood that is wide and hard. Proved battery life on 9 amps for 2:30 min. Seem like 15 Amps is the way to go.

You need the 15 amps batteries. That’s the only way to go

Dewalt confuse everyone flexi volt 54v on 18v it is 9amps on 54v its only 3amps

I can de-mystify it a little bit if that helps? The flexvolt batteries has three 18-ish volt batteries inside. When using it on an 18v tool, it gives that output. When plugged into a 54v tool, two little prongs push on a switch that puts the three 18v batteries into series, meaning they add their voltage to each other - allowing the battery to deliver 54ish volts. The ins and outs of this are a little more complicated, just not in a way that is helpful to know about 😆.
