Very good video, simple and effective. Patience really is the key. Keeping the defence structure intact by bringing attention to your squad as a whole formation, not just one player against one attacker. Also it's very important to keep an eye to the opponets squad as a whole and cover in time open players when you expect a pass, especially if you see a player starting a run through. One thing I didn't know - hitting X (contain) multiple times in front of the attacker. I usually just put my defender on his way and he just takes the ball automatically upon contact. I use contain just to move a marked player closer to the opponent and then release it to cover him manually. Will try your method though. Thanks a lot for the video.

fifa 15 is just shite lets be honest... defending is way too hard because all you need is a pacey player to run right past you and thats it, through on goal. every time you tap 'o' or 'b' it is a foul, shooting is dreadful and longshots are impossible. only things thats better than fifa 14 is passing imo, disappointing game.

Does anybody else have the bullshit problem when an opponent plays an over the top through ball all of a sudden, and then your fcking defender just stands there or runs 10 feet forward instead of reacting to the play? It's absolute shit! FIFA 15 defenders have the reaction time of a 90 year old grandma, your opponent will play a through ball and then your defender will be like "Awe shit maybe I should get the ball" 5 seconds after the pass has been made. Or when your opponent cuts inside and starts sprinting it's literally impossible to stop them unless you push and pull which risks a penalty. I'm in Div 1, so I'm no noob to the game. But for fuck sakes, there has to be an easier way to defend.

thanks for the tutorial. being patient and compact is one thing, however the defense experience in f15 has dramatically changed from f14. if you're playing against an experienced player, or 5 star team in the legendary mode, waiting for a mistake from the opponent only guarantees receiving at least a shot towards your goal. you will have an extremely tough time against both players who are good at dribbling (i don't mean holding down the LT/R2 button, but just shifting position and direction all the time) and fast short-passing tiki-taka style. another thing that i have found to gone backwards in f15 is the auto-switching. while i normally set the auto-switching on airballs, when manually changing players, in fifa 14 the system would get the switch right about 90% of the time, while in fifa 15 it has gone down to 60% -- you most of the time get the player next to the opponent or at times behind the player! and quite often not the one in front of. i also have experienced calling for the second teammate is not as effective as it was in f14. so yes, setting up a compact defense line is key, and your timing of tackle has to be impeccable, and even then you find yourself most of the time defending and gaining control of the ball dangerously close to your box. i may be doing something wrong, but note again that i am playing on the legendary level, as perhaps are some of you.
