It is hard defending on 16. Opponents just walk right tru you. From the defending ground.

Hope you make all kind of Fifa 16 tutorials like showing us every single button people in division 1 use to play on attack and defend it would be great to make us play easy like them at there same level so players like me would have a chance to win lots of games and reach division 1 playing like them to be fear game cause in Fifa 15 the max division I reach was 5.

Great tutorial once again mate thanks! Now to the desperate part. I don't know where else to turn to since I've played over 200 games online this year, gone up to div 2, watched a million tutorials and I still feel like I can't play AT ALL. To the point of driving me crazy. I have some issues which are clear like finishing or passing (which I think is kind of messed up in FIFA 16 but not the point), but these are issues I can solve by practicing and are understandable. What's frustrating as hell is 1. I can't stop anyone in defense, and 2. can't get past anyone in offense. Defensively not rushing into tackles or anything but defenders always feel like they're out of place. Like one or two steps behind, no matter what I do attackers will get past like I'm a practice cone. Offensively I feel like I can never hold the ball for more than 2 secs without someone taking it away. Doesn't matter if I'm Messi or Ronaldo, the opponent is ALWAYS faster. Feels like I have no pace whatsoever. I honestly just try to enjoy the game, not become a god tier player. So if anyone knows what I could be doing wrong, please help! Sorry for the long and kinda stupid post and thanks in advance!

Usefull video. I was trying to find a good way to deffend against those guys who dribble al the time and I just can't deffend well using the standing tackle and teammate contain. Jockey should do the trick I guess, thanks for advice!

Thanks @ovvy for these tutorials, great job mate! I've read countless posts about how "Fifa 16 sucks!" Defending sucks, attacking sucks, passing sucks! Well, I thought the same after I first fired up the game. Then after the, "first day gaming marathon", I had tried the career mode, UT and the game still sucked. I decided to put the controller down and cool down. I watched the European Qualifiers, Poland vs. Ireland and it hit me: Fifa 16 is just like this! Nothing is for sure, when attacking: one pass hit too hard or wrong angle will see the opponent counter-attacking. Shooting is hard, even scoring inside the box! In defence: going 1 on 1 and mistiming the tackle will get the opponent a scoring chance. But, that's how it is. You watch a game of football and in most chances you do not score. When defending you need to keep your cool, watch the opponent and then act if they get too close; push them away, jockey the ball off and clear it, don't look for a sweet pass on your teammates every time. And most goals are rebounds, headers, opponent mistakes converted. That sweet dribbling goal by Messi, only happens, you guessed it, to Messi!! Still, the game needs a bit of a tweak and here is my advice until we get a patch from EA: 1.Toggle the game speed, this will give you time to adjust to the new "feel" of the game. 2.Use the sliders: decrease the opponent pass accuracy by 10 and see how that effects the game, you can decrese it up to 20 points without overpowering yourself too much. Also lower the run frequency even as low as 25 and this will make the game more tolerable and cut down the "perfect runs" you see AI make. Opponent goalkeeper can be a real spiderman sometimes, lower his goalkeeping ability by 10 points and see yourself score from shots you are supposed to be scoring. Also, you can put a few point to your pass speed and this will help you through the learning period with the new fast passing. 3. Practise passing, it is the key in Fifa 16 and do not be afraid to pass all the way back to your goalkeeper instead of trying that narrow pass and end up getting intercepted. That's my advice after few weeks into the new version.

great video but you should have shown us the button configuration you used in this video. I for instance I slide tackle with the circle button on ps3 not the square button if you get what I mean.

Hi Ovvy, thanks for your for tutorial videos. Very helpful and insightful. I have one question and I am sure a lot of player would know what I am talking about. Sometimes you play people online but they constantly, constantly and constantly foul or slide tackle to the point you can not even attack. It can be an impossible task just even holding onto possession when they keep on sliding and fouling everything. You have any tactics to use to counter such style? if so would like to know, cheers.
