Grande Torino | Italian football tragedy still emotional

if those players wouldnt die in that plane tragedy in 1949 the italian national team would have win the fifa world cup 1950 in brazil for 3rd time in a row who has won by urugayan national team who beats brazil 2-1 in maracana stadium in rio de janeiro on 16nd of july 1950

I remember my father telling me this story when I was about 9. He was 10 when this happened and living in Sicily. He remembered how big this was to Italy and how tragic.

Sono di Torino e tifo juventus. Il Grande Torino però è qualcosa che lega tutti i torinesi. A Superga, il 4 maggio, la città si ferma per onorare questi campioni. Mio nonno è ancora un grande tifoso di quella strada. Per non dimenticare. W il Grande Toro.

Ci sono giocatori il cui valore travalica la squadra di appartenenza e deve essere riconosciuto da tutti gli sportivi. In questo riconoscimento è compreso ovviamente chi ha indossato con onore la maglia del club che tifi.

Torino fans mourn that team every day. If you visit Superga like I did, you will see that it's really sad. May 4 we celebrate the team and its accomplishments.
