Күн бұрынB-29 Fifi and B-24 Diamond Lil fly together at the Rocky Mountain Airshow in 2013. Smoke and explosions make for some exciting low flying. These very large and rare airplanes dominate the airspace and make a long lasting impression. Diamond Lil was the 25th built out of a total of 18,482 B-24s. Fifi was restored in the 1970s by the CAF and flew for over thirty years until 2006 when new customized engines were installed.

There was smoke in the area from forest fires and viability was low but it cleared enough for some brilliant flying. The second day was rained out so this was a real stroke of luck to photograph such rare aircraft at our mile high venue. These bombers ware tremendous in size, so it was like walking around giants. The B-29 barely fit on the taxiways and the long tail really swung out on the turns.
